Roblin Band Presents Excellent Fall Concert
The Roblin Community Youth Band led by the Roblin Majorettes performed a fall concert at Roblin Collegiate auditorium on Friday November 19. Band president Harry Oliphant welcomed guests and MC Brian Dixon of CKDM Dauphin introduced conductor Archie Beach and guest conductor Darcey Mossing. The program featured Olympic March Yellow Rose of Texas Moon River Belphegor Green Fields and Michael Row The Boat with solos by David Edel Marnie De La Mare and Willie Lebedovich. New members Gwen Hilland Gerald Hawryluk and Connie Bruce debuted with twenty others awaiting lessons.

Roblin Couple Celebrates Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary
Mrs. and Mrs. John Wolochatuik marked their golden anniversary on Sunday November 21 in Roblin. Illness forced cancellation of some plans but a surprise tribute by the U C W League and visiting friends and relatives filled the day culminating in a home gathering at the Kozak residence. Relatives from Grandview Prince Albert and other communities visited, while trophies and plaques highlighted student achievements at a Roblin event featuring the Junior Majorettes and a school band performance.

The Assiniboine Sonnettes met at 4:45 p.m. November 2 at Dropmore School. Mrs. G. Hunter presented the year’s work schedule. A Whist Drive was planned for November 19 with thirteen tables at Dropmore Hall. Slides opened the evening. first prizes went to Mrs. Don Robin, Mr. George Hunter and Mr. Calvin Stauffer. Consolation prizes awarded to Mrs. Burke McNeill and Mr. Pete Galatiuk. Lunch ended the pleasant gathering. next meeting is December 7.

The Roblin Women s Institute held its November meeting on Nov 10 at Mrs J J Collins home with nine members. The program convenor reminded of next month s program and a social evening was planned replacing a turkey dinner. Members were asked to bring fruit cake handicrafts and a small exchange gift plus aprons. Mrs Gay Mitchell offered her home for the Dec 16 event. Regular meetings will continue in the United Church lower hall next year. Red Cross report highlighted twins Paul and Paula Biseette the first North American born twins to receive prebirth blood transfusions. 45 fresh blood bottles were donated. Roll call yielded distant answers and a leadership school summary was given. A dinner for the Intermediate School on Nov 26 at 6:30 p.m. was organized.

The next meeting, on December 11, will be a Christmas party with committee members Janice Arnott, Lark Gamey, Joan McBride, Bonnie Bruce, and the executive handling arrangements.
