The High School Literary Society meets Friday November 23. The girls cooking class organized as The Jolly Caterers with officers Prea Elsie Nelson Vice President Hazel Hayward Secretary Blanefit Terry Treasurer C McDonald. The Uwilikus Cooking Club held its first meeting at Muriel Rolston's home with President Mary Merrell Vice President Verna Brand Norene Fletcher Treasurer Muriel Richardson and committee work planned for a constitution and future program. The next meeting is set for Kathleen Colling's home on December 15.
The death of Mr. T McCrea after an appendicitis operation in Dauphin, followed by a family bereavement and funeral at Brandon, is noted. The Farmers Union met at Union church on the 14th to hear papers on Robert Louis Stevenson and his childhood, read by Mr. Kavanagh and Mrs. Geo Watson.
The Cromarty Women’s Institute held a well attended meeting at Mrs R Glover’s home with Miss Mitchell and Mrs Watson contributing papers on Temperance and Hygiene. Mrs Inglis was re elected president and Mrs Brooks secretary treasurer as the new year’s officers were chosen. A Sunday Union church club meeting followed with project leaders appointing Leslie Inglis and plans to raise funds for game boards gloves and church meetings. The next gathering is set for September 29 at 7 80.
