Memorial Service at Roblin Union Church Ends Veterans Parade
A memorial service was held at Roblin Union Church at 3 p.m. Sunday Nov 11 led by the Veterans band. Comrade Geo McNeill conducted and delivered a forceful message. Comrade Richardson read the Jesson and Comrade Kines read fallen names before a two minute silence and The Last Post. Mrs J McNeill played The Deal March From Saul. Veterans returned to Ode Fellows hall and were dismissed.

Veterans Banquet At Orageman Hall Observed
A veterans reunion banquet was held at Orageman's hall on Monday November 12 at 7 p.m. Sixty five veterans attended the cookhouse call. Toast master Comrade Richardson welcomed the Comrades followed by many toasts including The King and The British Empire and Flag. Mr Hill and Comrade McNeill sang solos as the event wrapped with thanks to the ladies and a hearty note for a future gathering.

Roblin School students invite tours of science form
Doris Wilson has left to attend Timmer school and will be missed in grace. The High School Literary will hold its next meeting Friday. George and Jack Belton were home for Thanksgiving holidays. George McNeill, ex-student, filled the pulpit at Union Church last Sunday. Public Health Nurse Beggs arrived home from Winnipes for Thanksgiving. Every Monday grades 5 to 8 report items missing over the weekend. Grade 11 invites visits to the science form to view rockers and apparatus. notebooks may be inspected. Community is urged to support University Extension Service lectures for real benefit to students and education.

A visitor J Hyrnebuck came through the district while Mr. Graham returned in better health. Farmers gathered for a Roblin meeting, Sam Johnston from Granview visits, and the Returned Soldier Pension Officer was in town. Our school closed last Thursday and Friday for a teachers convention in Dauphin. Andy Vansickle returned from Humboldt, reporting farmers still plowing there. Mrs. P Hanson left for Dauphin with her son Philip for eye tests. Union Ladies and Community Club held meetings with plans for an October 16 sale of work. Box Social featured a Jugglers stunt with Archie McIntyre in a box and two lawyers sawing it in half.

Halloween passed quietly in the locality as churchgoers enjoyed an evening, followed by a November 2nd fowl supper hosted by John Arnott with community aid. A Bainen Orchestra gave a popular musical program with soloists, drawing encores and close to $100 raised for parish purposes.

Grand Narrows district reports farm moves and convention participation by delegates from the area. Miss Dearsley attended a School Teachers Convention in Dauphin on November 8 and 6. Ditch rebuilding at Bogue Hill is advancing. Mr Black of Pelly, Sask spoke at the UFM Hall about the Farmers Union of Canada. Ladies of the UFM plan a quilting bee and a bazaar on the 30th. An omission to Mrs Harry Cox from a concert list is noted, with corrections for Mr and Mrs Topham. A wedding at the Burrell home united Gladys Burrell to Jeremiah Maguire with Navy Blue Satin. The ceremony was officiated by Rev P Jones. reception and dance followed at the UPM Hall.
