J Choma returned to Vancouver Saturday after renewing acquaintances. Mrs L H White learns Peggs promotion to Lance Corporal in Victoria. Roblin Y P A extends thanks to driver for rally transport to Grandview. They were Pat Kines Rev Conly Allen Martin M A Clarke Tom Edwards.
A Roblin citizens meeting in a hotel sample room elected officers and committees to decorate Roblin streets for Christmas. R W McBride chairs the decorations, with J M Thom as secretary and others on the finance, light, and decor groups. The group urged cooperation to create a joyful holiday atmosphere for locals and visiting youths.
The Roblin community announces a fowl supper at United Church basement on Friday November 26 from 5 30 to 7 30 with 50 cent admission. The Poultry Pool ships dressed poultry December 1 and December 17. A married couples dance at the School Auditorium November 24 with 35 cent admission. A joint curling meeting tonight in the sample room invites men and women. Anglican church W A annual tea and sale of aprons and fancy goods November 27 with tea served 3 to 6 and donations welcomed.
The United church announces the Birthday Calendar for the Young People’s Society. People may add their name and birth date at Mitchell's Drug Store for a small 10 cent fee.
Private Anne E Belcher daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold Belcher of Bield Manitoba and former Justice Manitoba teacher was among 30 CWAC members who left Winnipeg on Tuesday for Vermilion Alberta Belcher taught in Justice before enlisting October 18 and was born at Merridale Manitoba.
At the United Church in Stouffville the 4 PM October 15 ceremony solemnized the marriage of Fr. Sergeant George Riddell Armitage R C A F son of Dr and Mrs Stewart Armitage King to Marie Margaret Conlon R N of Toronto daughter of Mr and Mrs Herbert S Conlon Sudbury. The bride wore a beige wool dress brown hat and brown accessories for travelling a and destination details.
Miss Helen Conlon served as bridesmaid in a green dress while the groom was supported by his brother Mr Harry Armitage of Toronto. A reception followed at the groom’s King home then the couple left for Gimli Hospital Manitoba where Frt Serg Armitage is posted.
