Practical advice for hunters on field dressing aging and cooking venison. Covers hanging times 48 hours to 10 days near freezing, trimming, grinding with pork or beef, canning with a pressure cooker, and freezing. Details methods dry and moist cooking by meat quality, marinades, salts and vinegars, spices, and encourages using low heat for tenderness.
In October the town policeman Peter Juba saw ten defendants. Kirby Ironstand of the Valley River Reserve was fined 105.00 under the Liquor Control Act and Jack Fisher of Shortdale 30.50. Under the Highway Traffic Act Durwood Wilson of Roblin was fined 9.00 and Nick Pitz of Roblin 14.75.

Roblin Volunteer Fire Department places Muscular Dystrophy containers in town businesses to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada. Since 1954 fire fighters have contributed about 50 percent of MDAC’s annual medical research funding, totaling over 1.5 million dollars toward a program approaching 3 million.
The Roblin curling season begins with the ladies’ club in first draw on November Sth and the men starting the next night. Senior boys also won a game. Friday promoted Curtis Magazine sales with Room XIA earning the week’s top average and Mr. Macdonald receiving a red and white beannie.

The Makaroff 4-H Club Beavers held its second meeting on October 28 at the school with all members present. Members selected their projects and began work using planes saws and hammers.
The Ivanhoe restaurant opened to the public Friday afternoon November 5 with free coffee and doughnuts for a large gathering. Located in a new brick building on Second Avenue North, Roblin it offers a lunch bar a spacious dining area and a modern kitchen. Proprietor Nick Danyluk is known locally as an excellent chef. Citizens wish the Danyluks success with their new venture.

Roblin Overture Concert Association presents a duo concert by soprano Sylvia Grant and baritone Alexander Gray in Roblin Collegiate Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Thursday November 18. Both artists are CBC Singing Stars of Tomorrow winners and soloists. Members seeking tickets or memberships may contact campaign manager Mrs. J van Drecht.
Mrs Olive Roe recently moved from MacNutt Sask to Roblin. Ray Rogers family from Flin Flon visited C Rogers family over weekend. H M Oliphant of Dauphin spent weekend with H Oliphant family. J A Hilland and Mervin visited Ernie Hilland at the University of North Dakota. Dr J Layng left for Montreal for a cardiology course. Paul Prefontaine of Roblin spoke at a two day Turtle River seminar in Winnipeg. Graham Mitchell and Jim travelled to Winnipeg for a football game and visited Hazel Mitchell and Mrs Hughes.
