Roblin Village Council Minutes and 1948 Actions

Roblin Village Council met in the council chambers with Mayor T. H. Taylor presiding. Minutes from October 4 were adopted and numerous payments approved for general municipal accounts including wages, elections, fire hall costs, licenses, and street/road projects. Pending bylaws, licenses, and building permits were noted, along with delegations to the Manitoba Municipalities convention and a tax sale scheduled for December 1.

Shell River Council set 1949 road grants and revisions

The November 3 1948 council meeting chaired by Reeve Diamond approved October 6 minutes. A special court of revision for Railway Property assessments was proposed and adjourned. Hillsburg Council Minutes 1948 Adopts Tax Sale and By Law

Memorial Hall in Roblin Meeting to Tackle Mountain Obstacle

Community members plan a big public meeting at the rink on November 18 at 8 p m to brainstorm ways to remove or demolish a massive block mountain blocking Memorial Hall. Local residents from Roblin and nearby districts participate, using collective ideas to tackle the challenge.

Roblin Community Memorial Service Held November 7th

The service includes a 10.35 a.m. church music program, prayers, scripture from Psalm 89 read by Mayor T. H. Taylor, a Litany of Thanksgiving, hymns, and the reading of fallen names including T. A. Cameron, R. T. McBride, John Adam, and Colin Cameron, followed by wreath sayings and the Last Post.

Goose Lake Trustees Board Minutes November 1948 Meeting

The Goose Lake School Board met in the evening of November 4 1948. All members present except W Sorbo. Minutes of last meeting read and adopted. October enrollment 401 attendance 94.8 percent. Various letters read from local officials and groups. Several motions authorize payments and set policies including religious exercises, Armistice Day as a school holiday, and hiring tenders for 1949 van routes with 18 routes listed. Tenders for routes 15 and 16 to be in by November 13 1948.
