Roblin Rec Leaders Mull Community Memorial Hall

A Roblin town hall meeting on October 26 discussed improved recreation and a potential leadership course. George Senyk of Manitoba’s Recreation Branch outlined a memorial multi purpose community hall with gym, library, kitchen, crafts room and music lounge to serve schools, playgrounds and rinks. A follow up meeting is planned for November 18 to discuss building the hall.

Roblin Dauphin hydro line to start this fall

W. Fallis of the Manitoba power commission announced in Dauphin that construction of the Roblin to Dauphin 33 000 volt line will start this fall to provide an alternative power source for Dauphin. Delays in heavy duty poles have slowed delivery though completion could occur in three weeks once started.

Fall of Walcheren Ends Antwerp Port Fight

Four years ago on November 5 the last dry land on Walcheren Island fell to Allied forces, sealing off Zuid Beveland and ending the Canadian drive to clear the port of Antwerp. The Westkapelle dyke flood prepared the assault, with air power flooding the defenses and shortening the battle.
