A bylaw for a Tax Sale on December 18 1982 passes. Other accounts from Dauphin Hospital, Western Chain Stores, and local firms listed for payment.

School Trustees Meeting Minutes November 4 1932

The school board met in the afternoon to approve October reports and actions. They authorized payment of 3 for Fred Malagny, enrolled Grade XH students paying full fees, deferred power pump plans, cementing windows, and scheduled the annual ratepayers meeting for November 18 1932 at 2 o clock. Accounts approved include Cranwell Roblin Furniture and Quaranteee Garage.

Miss Phyllis Burrell has returned home from Makaroff. Miss Muriel Wilson spent the weekend at her home in the district. Young Peoples meeting at P.M. Hall on Saturday November 12 at 7:15. Mr. T Burrell accompanied UF M delegates to Dauphin and Winnipeg. UF M delegates Mr and Mrs Middleton and Ada Lester motored to Dauphin last Tuesday, returning with W Middleton. Miss Joan Laurie, another delegate, joined them on return.

R J S Parker shipped a car load of stock to Winnipeg on Saturday. The Swift Canadian Co will buy poultry here on Monday Nov 21. Sid's Orchestra from Kansack played at the Davis hall last Friday. An auction sale of household effects at the late R J Irwin residence was a success. Mona F Vipond wed Robert McKee at United church Kamsack with Rev Afe Wihinney officiating. A double wedding occurred at the Lutheran church with about 200 friends in attendance. Death reported of Harmon S Sharp of this district with funeral at United church and Makara cemetery. Brother Jas Sharp and Mrs Chas McGregor are related.

Cromarty social notes and institute meeting report

Visitors from Portage la Prairie Winnipeg and Carberry attended events in Cromarty last week. The Cromarty Institute held its annual meeting at Mrs Collin's home with officers elected and new members enrolled. A talk on parket making followed a light tea hosted by Mrs Collis and Mrs Grasse. The December gathering will be at Mrs Simpson's home.

DEEPDALE J and W Ward and sister Mrs A Matthews drove to Percival Sask last Saturday to wish Miss Alice Nostrom joy on her marriage to Archie Harvey. About 80 youths and girls from Bath Deepdale gathered Friday evening for games and refreshments at midnight. Rev S McLeod gave Armistice sermon promising a fully attended church in tribute to fallen soldiers.

Mr Pickard field supervisor of the SSB visited Merridale recently. After spending days in Winnipeg, Mr A J Macaulay returned on Saturday. Miss Louie Saunders, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ted Saunders, celebrated her first birthday with about twenty friends and relatives at her home.

Maltalogy at Manitoba Agricultural College reports ongoing work on evaluating Manitoba barley for export. Associated British Malsters Limited bought a trial shipment from OAC 21 as a potential forerunner to larger trade with Britain. Elders notes Manitoba barley appears weathered and threshed easily, causing skinned kernels that hinder malting and uneven germination.
