Swift Canadian Co expects a carload of poultry Monday Nov 21. Young people's society met in the old Presbyterian church Friday night. Manitoba report shows 10000 parcels of land in the province to be sold for non payment taxes. Arrears total 28963377.73 dollars across municipalities. McLeod municipal commissioner and Hoey minister of education studied records and discussed future collections and crop conditions affecting tax recovery.

A five dollar reward is offered for information leading to the recovery of a sorrel stallion that strayed from a Roblin farm about two weeks ago. The horse has a white stripe on the nose a short neck two white hind legs a grey tail and a mane cut about four or five inches. Contact Walter Kawalsy in Roblin for details.
Grand Narrows residents note the annual bazaar moved from November 18 to December 2. The UFA held a general meeting at the Hall last Wednesday with delegates Middleton and Burrell reporting on the Dauphin convention. A poultry rearing lecture and market poultry handling demonstration by D Russell of Dominion Live Stock Branch followed, deemed both enjoyable and instructive.
The district notes a new flag at the Bield school. Miss Verna Wells returns from Winnipeg. Roblin’s armistice banquet on the 11th drew returning men. Forrie Chase and spouse resume residence in their new home after a U S honeymoon. A social at Mrs Ed Johnstone’s featured dancing into the early hours. Birthday party at Mrs G A Cooper Shortdale celebrated Miss Apee, the Coopers’ eldest daughter.
Communion Day planned for next Sunday in Deepdale while Rev. Stanley McLeod spoke on Armistice Day at the eldurch. He urged understanding of war causes, citing selfishness and greed, and urged peace through Christ. Also notes Makaroff W I meeting at Mrs. Button’s and word on Lorna McInnis’s appendectomy recovery after hospital trip to Kamsack.
Kelly Cockerill finishes another good season as Merridale threshing outfit hosts a well attended event at Merridale School on November 9. Boxes were sold quickly by auctioneer Sam Nowasad after a fine display. a dance followed. The recent UF A meeting at the school saw W Zubresky report for Mauphin. Officers include President J Mwaluta Vuce treasurer M Zibresky and directors P Znak M Prosky J Kolomga A Yakubosky W Finkaryk Walter Yakubosky and A Ratushny.
About a year ago reports claimed a Texas plan could yield 60 percent wheat at low prices. Mr Price ran a 22 000 acre operation with modern tech and 500 000 bushels harvested in 1930. He quit a New York job to pursue wheat at ten to twenty seven cents a bushel. Now creditors take over as market slumps doom the venture.
The Union Church will feature a sermon on Modernism next Sunday. The Women’s Institute plans a December 9th fundraiser for the empty stocking fund. Manitoba Poultry Pool will ship dressed poultry from Neaville on November 23rd. Remembrance Day events included an Armistice service by the Kobon B.E.S.L. branch at Angovan church led by Rev. G. E. Phillips who spoke on Are We Reaching the Horizon of Peace.
