British Empire Wembley Exhibit Closed by Prince of Wales
The British Empire exhibition at Wembley was closed by the Prince of Wales on Monday. It attracted eighteen million visitors. In New York a fire destroyed a business block, killing Mrs Nebero and two children. Alfred Brooking, 28, received six months hard labor and six lashes after pleading guilty to assaulting a 14 year old girl.

Sunny James Findlater motored to Gilbert Plains last week. Wesley Mitchell returned to Vancouver on Wednesday. Cora Nault came home from Kamsack on Saturday. The Ladies of the WAL hosted a well attended fowl supper in the hall last Friday. A concert by Togo school pupils is set for Friday at 4 pm in Davisf Hall. parents are urged to attend. Armistice Day will be observed by local Great War Veterans with a service at All Saints Church on Sunday Nov 9 at 10 30 am, Rev A Stanley presiding. Poppies by disabled veterans will be sold for 10c on Saturday the 8th. Veterans will meet at 146 a.m. at the Fire Hall wearing decorations.

Miss Doris Lade attends Makaroit school as Silver Wood threshing ends in the district. A sale of farm stock, implements, and household furnishings will be held at the old Luxton farm on Thursday at 1 o clock. Everything will be sold without reserve. The Farmers Club opened its hat with Mr W Newton presiding. A varied program featured Mr Glandhill and Mr W Watson with piano and song, plus J Davies and Mrs Haight. Deepdale orchestra provided music for a first class dance lasting until 3 am.
