Turtle Mountain Hospital District Opens to Public in Killarney

The new Killarney district hospital, first completed under Manitoba Health, welcomed many visitors despite heavy rain and wind for a two day public inspection. Fully equipped operating rooms a case room and X ray facilities announced by Matron Margaret Rains patients to be admitted this week with an official July opening to be scheduled.

Roblin Tennis Club Reorganized

Enthusiasm ran high at a May 17 re organization meeting for Roblin tennis club. Officers elected were C Busby president L Spear vice president and C Cameron secretary treasurer. The club sets 5 adult and 2 student fees and plans two new courts near Roblin arena amid a push to revive tennis after several years.

Army Cadets to Attend Summer Camp at Clear Lake

About 1000 Royal Canadian Army Cadets from Manitoba Saskatchewan and Western Ontario will attend a ten day summer training camp at Clear Lake Manitoba in Riding Mountain National Park. Manitoba and Western Ontario corps train July 2 to 12 Saskatchewan units July 13 to 23. Activities include drill health and physical education target practice sports water safety signalling map using and more to build citizenship and responsibility.

When Is a Tractor a Motor Vehicle

A farmer faced questions of liability and insurance after a tractor collision. The Highway Traffic Act defines a tractor as a motor vehicle when traveling on a highway above 10 mph.
