Roblin Hospital District tours Turtle Mountain facility

Citizens and district trustees visited the Turtle Mountain Hospital at Killarney on May 26 and 27 to study its modern equipment and ward design. Dr E R Rafuse and Miss M Rains joined Bran don and Killarney staff showing features aimed at aiding patients and staff. The educative trip aids Roblin’s plans for a new hospital with generous ward donations from lodge and Masonic groups.

The Dauphin Presbytery of the United Church of Canada met in Dauphin on May 25 and 26. Rev J M Taylor attended the Settlement Committee for Manitoba Conference in Winnipeg May 28 and represented the Roblin Charge May 26. Announced the Ethelbert hospital to open in June under Dr M Henderson. Rev C Kostin, a Lutheran minister trained at United College, will lead United Church work in Ethelbert. Reports on Christian Education. many vacation schools planned. camping at Clear Lake with two boys camps, three girls camps, and a leadership camp, followed by Minister’s camp. Regional teacher training conferences planned for fall. Presbytery to meet during Manitoba United Churches conference in Winnipeg June 7 to 13. Visitors to Winnipeg invited to attend NSLP events open to the public. Roblin delegates to the conference are R DeLaMare and Rev J M Taylor.

Purple and Gold Graduation Exercises at Roblin Collegiate

Graduation exercises for grades 11 and 12 were held Friday May 21 in the Roblin Collegiate Auditorium. Grade XI history was read by Mable Cranwell Grade XII by Shirley Fisher valedictories by Hazel La Liberte Helena Truffin Tom Scott. principal remarks by Mr Spear and Rev G Hambley. Governor General’s medal went to Bill Nowasad with other awards. a banquet at Roblin Hotel preceded the private dance with music by the Swingster.
