The May 8 gathering at Mrs. E McIntyre's home had eleven members with Mrs. Powell presiding. Scripture reading and the Lord's Prayer opened the meeting. Mrs. Clifford Ayer hosts the June 12 session. Mr. and Mrs. Will Taylor were noted attendees.
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs T Giles on the birth of a son. Mrs McDuffe joined Mrs Fisher and Duncan for a Winnipeg weekend trip. The McDuffe family from Pope Manitoba visited district relatives. The Community meeting at Mrs Don Black’s home had full attendance. Minutes were read and adopted by Mrs Becker and Mr W Watson. A plan for entertaining youth led to a weiner roast at F Sslinger’s home in early June. Next meeting will be at Mr W Watson’s home.
The people of Manitoba have a long record of staunch support for the Red Cross. This tribute to the warm hearted spirit of the province shows their desire to aid distress. The annual appeal reflects Manitobans' anxiety to have the Red Cross ready to answer calls from Canada or abroad. I thank the volunteer canvassers, publicity mediums, and all others who helped the campaign succeed.
