Deepdale echoes with family news as new baby May 13 brings joy to Mr and Mrs Lloyd Wison. A carload of ladies led by Ken McKenzie toured to Inglis for the District WLI Convention. returnees welcome Mr and Mrs T Roberts who moved back after winters in Roblin. Walter Ritter of Edmonton graduates with BA and BD degrees and plans to wed Doris Andres of Roblin on June 11. Twelve graduates head to missions in Korea, Japan, the Philippines, India, New Guinea and England.

Mrs P Beck remains a patient at Roblin hospital for a week. Audrey Van Drecht of Brandon spent the weekend at her home. Mr and Mrs Glen Arnott of Winnipeg visited the Arnott family. J Davis’s guests included C Rudd of Flin Flon and Audrey Davis of Clanwilliam. Laurine Hilderman of Dauphin and Lloyd of Winnipeg were home for the holiday. Galisheff of Edmonton visited L J Hohle. Mrs Stan Boyce of Winnipeg paid a flying visit. A number from here attended the Ing lis Convention last Friday. Mrs J Davis and Mrs L Angus were official delegates.

Bield Students Shine at Russell Festival
Six high school students and principal L I Spear attended the Russell festival on Thursday May ninth. Edward Arndt grade eleven scored 95 percent tying for first in Public Speaking. Ada Cockerill grade ten won first in Spoken Poetry with 86 percent. Gordon Yaciuk grade ten led Boys Spoken Poetry with 85. Evelyn Belcher grade nine topped Spoken Poetry with 86. Janice Dobranski grade eleven placed second in Spoken Poetry with 82. Lyla Mymko grade ten also earned 82 in Public Speaking. The group and principal deserve credit for the fine showing.

Yorkton Museum Opens Season May 5 1957
The Western Development Museum at Yorkton begins its 1957 season on May 5 with Geo Shedwood returning as curator after serving in 1955 and 1956. New exhibits include old-time steam and gas tractors, and Simpson catalogues from 1916 to 1953 offer insights into styles and prices. The collection features at least 1,500 items and visitors will receive courteous attention.
