Representatives from local organizations met on May 11 to plan a canvas of Roblin for the Canadian Mental Health Association. The drive runs May 24 to 29 with a tag day on the final day, May 20. A $1 donation buys membership and Manitoba and Winnipeg support are sought to fund essential care and programs.

The Western Weekly Supplement will be issued every other week as decided by shareholders. This week’s issue was not received due to unforeseen reasons. Sportsmen Assist Removal Of Useless Fish
Winnipeg anglers joined Manitoba fisheries staff in two operations to improve sport fishing. One group flew to a remote lake to angle adult walleyes with barbless hooks for stocking the Winnipeg River, while another helped net surplus perch and suckers from a small lake to stock with half grown muskies. By Monday evening 1538 fish were removed.

Roblins Youth Band Street Concert Saturday Night
The Roblins Community Youth Band under Archibie Beach will stage a street concert Saturday at 8 30 p m to raise funds for travel to Moose Jaw for the Kinsmen International Band Festival. Members sell chocolate bars to offset operating costs and thank locals for transport to Yorkton and Inglis.

The May meeting of the Makaroff Women's Institute at Mrs. Jas Arnott's home drew 21 members for the Grandmothers Social. Mrs. John Arnott will delegate to the June 13 Provincial Convention in Winnipeg. Antiques were shown for display at the May 12 Rossburn district event. Jackpot won by Mrs. Jack Pound. Bingo yielded multiple winners and a blackout. A candle holder demo impressed attendees. Gifts honored the oldest and youngest grandmothers among others. Lunch closed the meeting.
