Manitoba Nurses Union to ratify Fox-Decent settlement
The Manitoba Nurses Union bargaining committee backs Wally Fox-Decent recommendations for a three year contract with a five percent wage rise in year one and three percent in years two and three plus a 2.5 percent benefits increase. Renewal moves Manitoba nurses from eighth to fifth in 2000. President Maureen Hancharyk says members will be asked to ratify though issues like recruitment and retention remain. She vows continued accountability of government over health care and nursing shortage.
