The minutes record Donna Doering and Diane Kozak moving to adopt the previous meeting. Discussion covered garden planting methods and seed distribution. The Treasurer and President were to sign cheques at the bank before adjournment by Diane Kozak. Judy Millis seconded the adjournment.
Col legiate Careers Day on April 21 featured 24 career talks with 12 heard by students. Thirty four Grade XII pupils visited Winnipeg touring the University of Manitoba Legislative Buildings M L T Centennial Arts Center and Planetarium. The Roblin Collegiate Variety Concert is set for Friday May 9 at 8 00 p m in the collegiate auditorium.
The Intermountain School Division No. 35 fills two board seats after resignations. Garry Gaber elected in Ward 3 by acclamation on April 11. Ward 2 saw Walter Henry Kurtenbach win by four votes over Alec E. Mohr on April 21 with 196 of eligible electors voting. A poll-by-poll breakdown follows.

The Roblin Gun Club held the season opening shoot on Thursday April 24 and will keep Thursday as the weekly date. Members Brent Lees Al Allanson Bryan Davis Jesse Wardle and Jim Ready participated with scores of 23 23 22 and 20 respectively. The club invites more members next week to enjoy the Canadian wilderness atmosphere and the approaching summer.

Evangeline Rebekah Lodge No. 41 hosted a District No. 18 meeting with Sis Lila Henry and Edith Kinnis of Dawn of Peace No. 60. Delegates from Dauphin Grandview Gilbert Plains and Manitoba attended. A Rebekah Assembly visit in Minnedosa June 21 1969 was announced and a 20 year jewel was awarded.
The annual OORP district meeting was held at the Togo Elks hall on April 14 with District Deputy Lady Sayer presiding. Ninety seven ladies registered. Visiting lodges included Kamsack Yorkton Langenburg Bredenburg Melville and Esterhazy. Togo received two awards for year long competitions. A raffle awarded first prize a petit point picture by P D D Lady Hampson and second prize a centrepiece won by Lady Tallant of Melville. Reports from lodges were read and a banquet served by Elks concluded the day.
Sigurd Olsen announced a semi annual circuit convention of Jehovah's Witnesses in Dauphin at the Colonel Barker School May 2 3 and 4 based on 1 Corinthians 7 29 Making Wise Use of the Remaining Time The highlight will be a public discourse Law and Order When and How by J Scaglione of Toronto on Sunday May 4 at 3 p.m The program is open to all interested without admission charge.
Mr Robert Lucier is a patient at Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg. Dennis Johnston and family of Saskatoon visited the Switzers for four days. An interested citizen submitted a guest editorial on page two. Erna Jones returned home after four weeks in Nelson B C. Alf Williams and family visited L Josephson and Karst households in Saskatoon last weekend. Al Allanson and Murray attended George Miller and wife s 40th wedding anniversary in Justice Manitoba. Walter Payne of Kelowna visits daughter Willy Ward s home renewing acquaintances with relatives.
The Northland Presbytery Committee met at Swan River on April 24 and selected the Well man Lake Conference for lay people to be held June 13 to 45 with Rev. Charlie Forsythe as keynote speaker. The event budget is 15 dollars per person or 25 dollars per couple plus travel.
The new Marshall Wells Store on Main Street Roblin owned by Mr and Mrs D Kozmen iuk opened April 15 adding a smart store to Roblin Shopping area. A 50 by 120 foot cement block structure with a 40 by 50 foot mezzanine offers ample display area. Interior walls use pegboard with pastel paint and vinyl tile floors, six fluorescent light rows, and all materials except steel and glass were purchased. Beaver Lumber and Co op Lumber Roblin supplied interior finishing and blocks. Winners include multiple Roblin residents receiving prizes such as a Tappan Gurney Electric Range won by Mrs Peggy Nelson Johnstone.

Delegates Anne Benazew Edna Sims attend Central Supply Room Seminar April 24 25 26 in Winnipeg at Children’s and St Boniface Hospitals. By law updates discussed and re enacted as by law 269. Finance committee approved accounts totaling 7409.17. Window replacements planned five to six units this year. Interior painting targets Lab X Ray Health Unit Nurses Residence excluding halls and sitting room with tender notices to be placed in the press.
Firemen answered two alarms in Roblin on Monday and Tuesday. On April 28 a wind driven blaze at the Wm Craig farm 11 miles south of Roblin on Highway 83 burned a granary filled with wheat. The second fire on Main Street Roblin destroyed a shed behind the Roblin Credit Union. origin unknown.
The Roblin Russell District Convention takes place May 14 at Memorial Hall Roblin. Guests include Provincial President Mrs E R James Grosse Isle and J Frank Muirhead director Extension Service Branch. Miss Joan Dickin covers New Materials and Fashion Accessories. Jane Mc Connel Duns died April 10 1969 at Niagara Peninsula Sanitorium in St. Catherines in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late George Duns formerly of Togo Saskatchewan. mother of Helen Charlebus Beatrice Moffat Gladys Topham Lance Jack and the late Norman Duns. 27 grandchildren 26 great grandchildren. Private funeral April 11 at Morse and Son Chapel. Interment Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Sanitorium in lieu of flowers. All arrangements by the deceased.
Makaroff Women’s Institute met April 10 at Mrs. Jack Davis home with six members and two visitors. They answered roll call with pennies for friendship and sent four thank you cards. Lunch plans were set for Hilderman sale and events. District president Mrs Nowosad spoke. she also won the Jackpot.

The James Mitchell house in the Assiniboine Valley, standing since the 1880s with 1895 addition, was razed by fire Tuesday night April 29 to clear land for the Shellmouth Dam reservoir. Last resident family vacated last fall.
Ice driven by 45 mph winds piled to 20 ft against cottages in Ochre Beach. Spectators watched as roofs walls and rooms were filled with ice. One cottage split nearly in two and another was a total wreck. Full extent of damage to be known after thaw.
