The Dominion Department of Agriculture is pursuing markets for apples and apple products. Grading, dehydration, and canned apples including applesauce aim to boost trade, with ready to use products for pies, baking, and home use gaining favor.

Dauphin Roblin Lodge AF and AM hosted a gathering with wives Thursday evening. most district brethren attended and enjoyed themselves. Highest score prizes went to Mr and Mrs Silvert. consolation prizes to Mr and Mrs John Adam. A dainty lunch was served. LL Mitchell and Mrs F Starr welcomed guests. Mrs McConnell is home improving and Mrs A McKnight also better. Mrs A J Leach hosted a bridge evening for Mrs Mitchell of Dauphin. Irene a visitor this week at Mrs J W Eddy’s. After U P meeting, a cub bag was presented to Mr and Mrs B Davies on their departure. they have been active in the society and are missed. A disastrous fire destroyed the home of Mr Charles Traub Tuesday morning. Stanley and J W Eddy fought the blaze. fire engine arrived too late to save contents. Insurance partly carried. Edward Stewart Loch deserves mention for quick action to save equipment.

Merridale residents praised Miss Blackburn of Dauphin for a two week visit to Mrs K Cockers at the sawmill and a social dance in honor of St Patrick Day drew many families. Local artists impressed, supper by ladies fed a large crowd, and dancing resumed after. Proceeds and grateful thanks went toward buying a baseball outfit for the school hooys, with music by T McNeil and John Andrews who donated their services.
