The Roblin Curling Club concluded its four day bonspiel with town clubs performing strongly. Winners include Gilbert Plains Aitkens Roblin in several events and Grandview in others. Prizes were donated by many local firms and individuals.
Council of the RM Shell River met in Roblin with Reeve Rogers and five councillors present. They formed a Court of Revision for the 1932 Assessment Roll and discussed pensions, finances, tax sale certificates, and service payments. The meeting adjourned with motions carried.
Well known artists perform in a Legion Minstrels show on March 11 1932 promising entertainment to lift spirits and drive away troubles for attendees.
Mr. Ed Howe of Makaroff visited Togo Saturday while Alva school reopened Monday under Mr. Charles Martin. Local residents send best wishes to James Carter returning from Kamsack hospital and Sam Hern after Moose Jaw Municipal Convention. Reports detail a senior hockey match against Kamsack, junior bonspiel winners, and a successful annual novelty bonspiel with prizewinners listed. Sincere sympathy extended for Mrs Alex Taylor’s passing in Dauphin hospital. community thanks to organizers of a charity show "Snappy Valley" and notes on local theater, dance, and orchestra efforts centered around Mrs Mae Thompson.
In Bield last Thursday Mr. Lechter bought stock. The Eighteen Carat Book a 3 act play will be held in Bield on Wednesday March 23. A villager vanished around early December and was seen with his bride on the train Monday. Sverre Johnston left for Oslo now to bring back his bride. The Girls Four Leaf Clover Club held a standing naming Friday evening. The girls found it rough after thaw, with laughter and dancing at home of the Vens Jaasrn where the evening was enjoyed.
Makaroff led by Rev W O Mather presented The Gir Who Forgot to a capacity audience in Makaroff Hall on Friday night with two hours of entertainment. Cast included Misses Dempsey Donner Clarke Ramsey and others. the Makaroff novelty bonspiel concluded Thursday with H Boyce rink defeating H Hervey in the consolation final. multiple prize winners listed across Grand Challenge Citizens and Consolation events.

Minutes of a school board meeting held Friday afternoon report that all members were present except Stapies. The vote discussed driver discipline on route 5 with recommendations to dismiss Mr Staphanow if orders and language could not improve. Warkentine reported expenses and several accounts were approved while the board adjourned.

Miss Marguite Schneider stayed with Mrs Chapman over the weekend. F Chase plans a move to the new Dun op farm. Mrs Collins sprained her wrist recently. Dr Drach visited Ais Nott who is bedridden with a bad cold. The W I met at Mrs Fraser’s with hostess Mrs Dixon assisting. attendance was high and the afternoon was pleasant. Mr and Mrs C Chapman hosted a lively party last Friday with cards and dancing, Leap Year etiquette had 2¢ ladies keeping the men on the dance floor until midnight.
Mr Paul Yacuik remains in Dauphin hospital and Mrs Ponachuk returned from Dauphin on Monday. The Gaiety concert Saturday was well attended and enjoyed. Shortdale market day drew a large crowd, with market days scheduled biweekly. Xena Bugera died in Winnipeg last week. body brought to Shortdale for funeral and burial in Ukrainian cemetery on Thursday.
