Prominent Citizen Dies Suddenly At Brandon
Prominent citizen Staf ford H. Cross died March 2 at Brandon General Hospital after illness. Funeral March 7 at Knox United Church Roblin officiated by Rev. James McNeill. Burial in Tummel Cemetery. Cross, born in County Armagh Ireland, migrated to the United States in 1901 and moved to Roblin district in 1921. He ran a local garage and left wife Alice Jane Gilpin and three daughters Sarah Beth Mrs G Butcher and Edith Mrs E Bramwell and three sons Harry William and Joe.

Plans Made for Roblin Hockey Tournament
Roblin Athletic Assoc held a March 7 meeting at the rink with few missing members. Plans for the tournament were completed and a Thursday schedule listed Runny mede versus Calder and MacNutt versus Roblin at 1 p.m. Togo versus St Lazare followed by two games after supper. Referees Waters and McConnell of Roblin. Midget and Peewee tournaments set for next week on Thursday and Saturday. An ad in this paper calls for a strong turnout to support the rink carnival.
