Funeral Services Held For Two Pioneers Of District
Funeral services were held in Knox United Church Rubin for Mrs Roe Ann Smith who died February 16 1955 at age sixty nine. Rev Murray Ames officiated with burial in Rogan Cemetery. McBain Funeral Service handled arrangements. Mrs Smith born Roe Ann Arnold in England May 3 1893 immigrated to Rovla and served the community until death leaving a daughter and several relatives in Calgary Roblin and England.

James Walker Ballard obituary marks 67 years
Werd was received of the passing of James Walker Ballard at the age of 67 on February 18 1955. He moved to the Ae Roo in district about 1907 with his parents, worked on the C N R in 1923, married Ada Johnstone of the Bidd district, owned a Robin meat market until 1942, then moved to Digoeen. Funeral services were held February 22 at 1 30 p m in S Bwel and Sons funeral chapel, Ocean View Burial Park. Pallbearers were H Petersen W B Easton R R Waterman E E Weatherly G Erickson I Petersen. Rev E Duncan officiated. Left to mourn are Ada, two sons Bruce and Clayton, daughter Desiores (Mrs D Barham), all of New Westminster B C. Also surviving are two brothers Ormand at Shevin and Watson of Finn Flon, and three sisters Mrs W M Nichols Mrs Ida Barde and Mrs J McQuarrie, all in eastern Canada.

Hartmier Wins Grand Aggregate At Bonspiel
The Rain Men's Bonspiel crowned E Hartmier's rink as grand aggregate winner after 12 games with only one loss. Parker's Gibert Plains team won several prizes but failed to reach grand honors, finishing with six wins in main events. Other event winners included Grand Challenge H Latmer and Merchant's event Parker, with multiple placements across Yorkton and Roblin.

A resident saw crows over a house Tuesday of last week. Nadia Framingham visited parental home last weekend. Mr and Mrs J Yeo from Dauphin visited Mr and Mrs A Yeo on Sunday. Ed Somers notes bricks available to the public. Mrs Briercliff from Wawanesa visited son-in-law and daughter for two weeks. Sunday visitors included Mr and Mrs D H Oliphant and others. Lydia Miller and Mardel returned from a week in Togo visiting Fred Erhard family. Nik Kiciak of Edmonton rested at several homes including Tezka and Puriten. They attended the Rathgeber Havershes wedding in MacNutt on Monday night.

Aggregate Race Now Wide Open at Roblin Bonspiel
The Roblin Ladies Bonspiel began Monday morning February 28 with thirty eight rinks entered including nineteen local and outside teams. Russell leads outside entries with Mrs Adolphe Keeper Bicknell and Lewis among entries from that town. Other booths include Dauphin Yorkton Dropmore Inglis Castelavery McCreary Foxwarren Binscarth Grandview led by various women curlers. After two curling days the grand aggregate race is wide open as all rinks have lost at least one game. The banquet was well received with Roblin Women Institute catering and two life memberships awarded to Estella Scott and Lottie Edwards for service to the Ladies Curling Club.
