The Assiniboine Sewing Club met on Friday February 2 at Drop mare School. Members sent 500 to the March of Dimes and 5 to the 4 H Club Council. The Provincial Efficiency Scores placed the club in the 80 90 bracket. Two demonstrations planned for the next meeting. On Monday February 5 Miss N Morrison district home economist Russell visited and inspected sewing. A lunch was served by the Castleavery ladies and president Elaine Robertson thanked Morrison.

Hospital To Purchase Pair Of Bed Rails

Shell River Council Schedules Seed Oats Purchase
A special Shell River Municipal Council meeting on February 21 1962 approved ordering oats for seed. Rodney oats at 1.07 per bushel and Garry oats priced similarly would supply about 6900 bushels for resident farmers. The council amended February 7 1962 resolution to seek an order in council for up to 10000 dollars to fund seed grain and fodder in 1962 from municipal funds.

Your Ag rep reports the Forest Nursery Station at Indian Head Sask provides deciduous seedlings free to farmers who plan by summer. Evergreen seedlings cost one cent each with a 50 per farmer limit. Provincial Forestry Service offers up to 100 evergreens at $1 per hundred for town or village plantings, farm shelter belts, erosion control, school grounds, or community projects.
