Baseball Opens Season With Visitor Victory In Togo

Reports show the first baseball game of the season between Runnymede and Togo ended with a win for the visitors. Several locals and visitors are noted traveling between Winnipeg and towns including Mr James Mewen, Mr Wr Rykiss, and Mr Alex Simpson who recently returned. Capt. George suffered an early injury limiting his participation. Reverend ALB Weaver attended the Union conference in Winnipeg. Mr Krauss from Lemberg Sask. is mentioned in town notes.

Mrs Lichter of Roblin visited Mrs Riskin herr and Doris and Ruth Wells spent the weekend here. A son was born to Mr and Mrs Dr McDowell on Wednesday May 25. Roy Chase loaded a car of wheat this week for Winnipeg. The Free Methodist meeting was postponed. L Wells underwent successful mastoid operation at Duluth Hospital. Political meeting trips and farm progress in Grand Narrows

Mr J F Basso drove to Roblin for a regional political meeting last week. The town hears about The Submarine from Jo Handly or F Basso. About 90 percent of wheat and 40 percent of coarse grain sowed. Basse family travelled to Kamsack Thursday with Mr J Handly. Heavy recent rains slowed field work but grain growth and pastures show strong benefits from the precipitation.
