Wedding Ceremony Details at Carman Farm Incoming Bride Attire

The bride wore a Moor length cream sheath with Venice lace and a detachable train, a double nylon veil, and a bouquet of cream and white roses. Attendants wore floor length gale yellow gowns. groom’s party included Ray Moutcher and Alvin Janze. After the wedding trip to the southern states, the couple will reside on their Carman farm with guests from multiple towns.

Peggy's Pointers and Fair Day at Major Pratt Collegiate

A busy Major Pratt Collegiate day included judging at 10:30 and a 1:00 parade. Bilverton Nitty Needles won the champion parade award while Roblin Happy Homemakers were reserve champions. Junior demonstrations saw Arlene and Keren Dura crowned champions for Spotlight on Hands. Marjorie MacKay and Leila Rice were reserve champions with Veer and Wear. Senior demonstrations had all teams win red ribbons. Loretta Abbott and Faye Digby of Assiniboine Sonnettes took champion for A Pie Eyed View, with reserve at Dauphin for Winnipeg finals. Patsy Turnbull and Carolyn Gilmour were crowned Foods Queen and Handicrafts Queen. The day closed with golf watch awards from T. Eaton Co. to Brenda Smair for outstanding Home Ec membership and Wes Peters for Agricultural Clubs.

Horticultural Show Teases Miniature Train Feature

July meeting of the Horticultural Society held as a picnic at Asessippi Beach attracted good attendance. Arrangements for the Annual Horticultural Show were discussed, with plans for a miniature train on August 25th. Roblin Girls Fastball Team Dominates July Tournaments

The Roblin Girls Fastball Team led by coach Earl Ward won multiple games in July tournaments. They defeated Pleasant Valley 5 to 2, claimed a 42 to 1 finals win, and achieved a 26 to 18 victory against Grendview in the San Chiru Lastbval event, securing first prize in the single game.

B C 4 H member visits Roblin high

A B C 4 H exchange student from Sidney British Columbia spent a period in Roblin visiting the Watsons and joining the Roblin Band as a tuba player for a festive engagement. He has long been a member of the Saanich Calf Club and enjoyed meeting new people and seeing several towns during his trip.

Annual Crocus Inter-Club Golf Tourney Held At Dauphin

The Dauphin Ladies Golf Club hosted the first Crocus Inter-Club Golf Tourney on Sunday 23 at Dauphin. Four teams from Swan River Rose City and Roblin competed with Swan River placing first, Russell second, Roblin third. CEDM Radio donated a trophy presented by Dauphin Mayor Hugh Dunlop. A supper followed with a social and meeting at Gosulak cottage.

Helen Zygmunt Honored At Miscellaneous Shower

A miscellaneous shower was held Friday afternoon July 21 at the home of the honored guest Helen Zygmunt. Rose corsages were pinned on the bride and her mother. Games were played and Terry and Tammie Christopher of Winnipeg pulled in a wagon decorated with Co op lumber supplies. Helen thanked the ladies and a delicious lunch concluded the event.

Irene D. McArthur obituary in Roblin Manitoba notice

Funeral services for Irene D. McArthur wife of Gordon McArthur were held at Roblin Knox United Church on July 24 1967. She died at 39 and is survived by her husband two daughters Gwen and Brenda her parents Carl and Charlotte Lovas two brothers Arthur and Arnold and six sisters with extended Roblin connections. Irene born December 31 1927 at Beild Manitoba taught in local schools before illness forced retirement in 1957 and the family later moved to Roblin Ontario area years.
