Thistle Control During Growth and Harvest Phases

From sow till freeze-up thistle control hinges on exhausting root reserves. Use 24D or MCPA at 16 cm per acre to prevent regrowth for 5 to 6 weeks, or apply 9 to 12 ozs per acre in crop land before blades emerge. If harvest or post harvest cultivation disrupts regrowth, fewer reserves may be replenished and extra sprays may be needed. Also notes 4H welcomes Douglas Reimer to the area. accompanying member trips and departures are mentioned.
