The Roblin United Church Sunday School held its annual meeting on January 23 after Sunday School with Mrs. H. Cross presiding. Officers elected included Superintendent Ray Taylor, Assistant Superintendent Kines, Primary Superintendent F A Newton, Assistant Primary Superintendents R De La Mare and Linda Staples, Saly Panenko as Assistant Secretary Treasurer, Cradle Roll Superintendent MC Bowley with R Mikkelson as assistant, and Missionary Convenors De La Mare and Souter, plus Choir Leader Hutchison and organists J Robertson and M Macdonald.
Roblin Midgets outpaced Gilbert Plains 6 to 3 as Stan Wilson opened the scoring for Gilbert Plains and Eugene Prokopetz added a brace for Roblin. Detailing goals, penalties to Barry Kimister and Herman Shultz, and key saves by Gilbert’s goalie.
The Roblin W I met in the United Church Lower Hall with 13 members and two visitors. A March of Dimes request to canvass the town was received and set for the last week in January. Briefs from members, a talk on program planning, and a demonstration on making earrings and inserting a zipper were featured before a Scottish lunch.

The Togo Homemakers Club met at Mrs Jennie Topham's home for January with 14 members and 3 visitors. Readings, new by laws adopted, a $60 scholarship planned, and notes on health, libraries, and a public health program were discussed. A sale for March of Dimes was planned and the next meeting set for Feb 10 at Mrs Dubasov's home.
The Parishioners of Christ Church met in the church basement on Friday evening. Agronomists at the December 1954 conference publish the 1955 variety list. The province is zoned by soil type into three zones with Roblin serving as a regional center for the Grey Wooded, Grey-Black, and Black Soil zones.

Michael Midzain, formerly of Merridale and Roblin, is elected president of the Over Junior Chamber of Commerce. He, a Goose Lake Collegiate Institute and Manitoba, and British Columbia graduate, has taught in Oliver B C for four years. his parents now live in Roblin.
Manitoba Minister of Public Utilities C L Shuttleworth says telephone rates must rise after long stagnation since 1921 as service value and costs have grown. He notes 15 000 phones added in the past year and the 200 000th soon, plus a new two letter five numeral plan planned for 1955 in Winnipeg and provincial offices.

Mr and Mrs E Maitland of Vancouver British Columbia welcomed a son born January nineteenth nineteen fifty five. The infant’s mother is the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Atkinson of Westbank British Columbia.
