Roblin Curling Banquet Highlights 270 Attendees
Two hundred seventy curlers and friends attended the Roblin Curling Association banquet marking the club's thirty first bonspiel. Life memberships were awarded to six members. A lively program included musical performances and a coronet solo. Shell River Municipality reports 158 connected farms and several village areas. Community meetings announced include Evening Guild February 28 and Cromarty Women’s Association with a St Patrick’s tea March 19.

The Moyce families receive sympathy for their recent bereavement. Mr and Mrs P Beck welcomed a son at Kamsack hospital Wednesday last week. Mr and Mrs R M Buchannan of Riding Mountain and Mr and Mrs W Buchanan of Grand Prairie visited Mr and Mrs R Dunsmore over the weekend.

A large field of 36 rinks enters a prominent ladies curling spiel with local and out of town teams. Obituary notices for Mrs Pheaney Boyce and Mrs Maudern
Funeral services were held for Mrs Pheaney Boyce pioneer of Makaroff district at Makaroff United Church on February 16. She was buried beside her husband Walter Boyce who died in 1918. The Rev Dr Carlyle Parker presided and grandsons and a great grandson served as pallbearers. Mrs Boyce born Pheaney Nelson in Ontario came to Canada and lived in Pembina North Dakota before moving to Headlingy and then the Makaroff district in 1911. She left six sons six daughters 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. The notice also covers the death and funeral of Mrs Mauden Hern of Burnley England later moved to Canada. She left a son James and was connected with Anglican church O F S Ruth chapter and local farm life. Her funeral was led by Rev HI A Morrow at Kamsack with a large attendance of family and friends.

Masonic Rite services were held for Herbert J. Bowley in Knox United Church Roblin on February 20. Bowley, a veteran newspaper man born in Fergus Ontario, edited the Moose Jaw Leader the Linsearth Express Roblin Review and Rossburn Review. He was active in community affairs and left a widow and three children with brothers listed. Burial followed in Roblin Cemetery.

Roblin Juniors overwhelmed Russell 13 to 4 as Lee Fisher scored four goals and Kelso Hohlyoke Scott Arnott Sodiwnyk Winchard each added two. Herbert John Taylor funeral rites held in Shortdale
Herbert John Taylor died February 15 at his Shortdale residence. Funeral services were conducted February 18 at the United Church with interment at Hublin Cemetery. Pallbearers were M. Clarke H. Gamey W. Gamey J. Hay S. Titaniah and L.B. Bailey. He was born in Grimsby England August 10 1879 and homesteaded in Shortdale 76 years ago. He married Annie Boyanski in December 1923. He leaves his wife seven daughters Lillian Cassie Annie Florence Elizabeth Lorraine at home two sons Mark and Fred at home and four grandchildren.
