The regular Lutheran Ladies Aid meeting in the church basement included nine members and one visitor. Rev Borchardt led a program titled A Beachhead for Missions noting two billion unseen by Christ and the Lutheran Hour’s reach.

The Roblin Skating Arena hosts an Ice Carnival by Roblin Hospital Aid on Friday March 12 at 8 p.m. Tickets cost 10 adults and 5 children with door prizes and costume prizes. Queen candidates are Shelly Jones Brenda Mc Nicol and Lynette Olson with votes by ticket purchases. Featured acts include a Pee Wee hockey game fancy skating and majorette numbers with the Roblin Community Youth Band.
Richard Gresko of Montreal wowed Roblin audiences with Beethoven Schubert and Chopin at the Second Overture Concert. Dan Fitze hosted as MC as Omar Ouellette departed. a March concert with a sixty-voice choir will require billeting for one night.
The Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Roblin Branch No 24 met Feb 9 at 8 pm in Memorial Hall with 31 members present. Officers reported routine business, donations were given to March of Dimes, Red Shield canvassing assigned, and plans outlined for an Ice Carnival candidate, welfare reports, a bonspiel, and a pot luck supper. Lunch was served by Hosts.
The Roblin Ladies' Three-Day Bonspiel began Monday February 15 with 29 rinks including 10 from Dauphin Swan River Russell Inglis Gilbert Plains Killarney Makaroff Togo and Shellmouth and 19 local foursomes. Prizes went to the H Olson rink for a 5 end and to M Davis rink for a 7 end. The event featured four competitions and a banquet at the Masonic Hall Tuesday.
Mrs Chas Elliott reports Mr and Mrs P Beck visited Langenburg Saskatchewan Sunday to see Mr and Mrs T Beck and family. Mrs F Nabe undergoes eye surgery at Yorkton hospital and aims for a speedy recovery.
Harold Boughton reports on lingering winter, the Ladies Bonspiel, and farm readiness. He warns farmers to finish machinery repairs before spring, prepare for ground thaw, and plan spring chemical louse control for cattle to protect weight gains and milk production.
A house warming Friday February 12 at the Geo Pearton home drew guests including Mr. Lyle Schneider and Mrs. Wellington Watson. Prizes honored ladies and gents for various top and low scores as gifts were exchanged and a chenille bedspread and pink blanket were gifts. A lunch followed the games and thanks were extended to attendees.
Local visits include Miss Donna Ward of Brandon visiting her grandparents in Roblin over the weekend. Marilyn Simpson of Brandon stays with her parents. Anna Friesen and Fred Sawatsky return from Steinbach after funeral of uncle David Letkeman. George Cooper named Roblin Co op store manager effective February 1.
Rev H V Brannon of Caldwell Kansas, veteran preacher and missionary advocate, closes his Roblin services on Sunday evening February 21 after two years in full time Evangelism and a Dominican Republic trip for top giving.
Grace Lutheran Church Ladies' Aid met February 3 in the church basement with 11 in attendance. Officers absent included Rev. Borchardt and President. Vice President E Baumung led prayers and reading from Mat 10 5 20. Minutes approved. treasurer A Schepp reported.
Nine 4-H club representatives were chosen from across the province for the summer interprovincial exchange. Janice Martin of Roblin is one of the delegates traveling to New Brunswick and other provinces for a week in each host province. The program runs since 1963 as part of 4-H and is funded by the Royal Bank of Canada.
