Work progresses on installing new telephone wire and cable in Roblin to meet future demand and remove 155 poles. About eight miles of aerial cable and over a mile of underground cable will be laid on a joint-use basis with Manitoba Hydro, with completion expected by March. Roblin will switch from manual to automatic dialing in about two years.

February 1, 1965 was the license deadline. only ten licences sold to date.

A Roblin rink led by Dee Bowley captured top honors in the Inglis Ladies Bonspiel held Saturday February 5. The foursome Iris Shepherd Wilma Johnstonstone and Kathy Cockerill faced a Russell rink skipped by Alice Schwalm in the final, nearly scoring an eight ender before Schwalm’s last rock left Bowley with a seven ender. The Inglis ladies were praised for the competitive play and the continuous buffet during the day.
Funeral services held for Michael Maluga 53 of Roblin after his death February 4 at Roblin Hospital. He leaves wife Nellie two sons Walter and Andy and two daughters, plus siblings and five grandchildren. Also memorials for William Clement Robinson 76 of Roblin, a lifetime farmer, with service at Makaroff and burial at Makaroff Cemetery. He is survived by wife Dorothy, two sons, a daughter, a brother and six grandchildren.

The Roblin Knights of Columbus held a farewell party for Past Grand Knight Omar Ouellette at St Vladimir’s College Auditorium on February 1. Joseph Klemecki received an engraved table-top pen set, and a donation of 25 to the Retarded Children's Fund was recorded. They also noted a curling win and a broom ball challenge against St Vlad’s students.
Roblin junior boys beat Dauphin 42 26 while Roblin junior girls won 27 17 at Dauphin. Senior Boys swept a six team Swan River tournament 3 0, led by Gerald Sanders 61 points. Roblin also claimed trophies in Grandview and bonus league honors.
Mr and Mrs Ray Fisher motored to Snow Lake Manitoba on Tuesday morning. Mr and Mrs Ken Ward and family of Gimli Manitoba visited the home of his parents Mr and Mrs Fred Ward last weekend.
