Roblin Chamber Plans Economic Survey and Minor Hockey Support
The Roblin and District Chamber of Commerce met February 23 to authorize paying over 50 for hockey equipment, sponsor minor hockey, and form a committee to modernize Welcome Signs. A Department of Industry and Commerce survey will assess local economic issues and shopping facilities with mail questionnaires to merchants and residents.

Obituary for Mrs Paul Pich at Dauphin Manitoba
Funeral services were held at the Dauphin Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of St. George for Mrs. Paul Pich of Dauphin formerly Mrs. John Yellowega of Shortdale. She died February 13 1965 at age 72. Surviving husband Paul Pich four sons and three daughters, several sisters and seven grandchildren. Interment at Riverside Cemetery Dauphin.

Severe Storm Strands Roblin Area Residents
A violent wind and snow storm hit the Roblin area early Saturday, shutting roads and leaving cars stranded. Plows and residents worked to clear drifts as visibility vanished, with some rural homes isolated after the storm. Temperatures fell 30 to 40 degrees below zero and minor damage to windows and store signs was reported.
Makaroff W I Hosts February Meeting at Mrs Elliott Residence
The February meeting of the Makaroff Women's Institute was held at Mrs. C. Elliott's home with nine members and four visitors. Wayne Hohle and Vernon Kerswell, Grade 7 and 8 students, reviewed the book Hoof Prints and Hitching Posts and author Grant MacEwan. Donations were approved for Myrtle Rose Scholarship and Red Cross. Volunteers discussed bus depot in Roblin and canvas for the cemetery. Sunshine Committee sent treats and cards and 2 funeral flowers. F W I C news noted Helping the Aged.

Mrs E Artemenko and son Barry visited in Canora for three days at the Staple home. Roblin Shriner boys went to Dauphin to curl against the Knights of Columbus. Mrs Ed Dyck and son Ian returned to Winnipeg after a ten day stay with the Staple family. Al Allanson and the foursome won the Cronkite Event at Minndosa and took third in the Western Supplies Event with Murray Wilson skipping. Kelowna pair Brian McKenzie and Victor Nash visited the Switzers. Wilf Ward reported a pack of five coyotes in his farm yard the first such sighting of that size. Four Roblin rinks are in the Togo Bonspiel with listed personnel. A ladies foursome from Roblin competes in the Gilbert Plains Ladies Bonspiel. Larry Wasylyshyn and Sheila Anne from Yorkton visited the Yaworski home. Jack Yaworsky attended the funeral of his brother-in-law Orysyzn of Milwaukee.

4-H Shin-Digs Planned in Roblin District
The Roblin District 4-H Leaders Executive met at the Ag Rep's office in Roblin on Feb 28 to plan a talent night and a 4H bonspiel. Proceeds go to Roblin Residences. The rural bonspiel section will be at Dropmore and Makaroff on March 20 with playdowns in Roblin on April 3.

The Roblin Ladies Bonspiel concluded February 17 with the H Olson rink of Togo undefeated and taking aggregate honors. Winners in four events included Mitchell Event led by Olson and runner up Fraser of Dauphin. Large, Scott, and Lawrence events crowned Roblin clubs with multiple Roblin placings. Prize awards followed the finals as finalists vowed to try again next year.
