Council Minutes RM of Shell River February 1932

Roblin council met February 10 1932 with Reeve Rogers and councilors Arnott Clarke Nowasad and Diamond present. Minutes approved. Relief acts discussed including unemployment tamarac guard fence at Togo and Deepdale hills. Various tax relief, bylaw readings, and payrolls approved. Several accounts paid including Roblin Trading Co. and St Boniface Hospital. Council adjourned.

District Social Notes From Dauphins Field Meet

Phillip Hanson is in hospital in Dauphin while Mr H Jans returned from Winnipeg Friday morning. The boys and girls meeting at the school Monday night featured the Swinelub group. The district young ladies hosted a shower Saturday evening at the Wells home in honor of Mr and Mrs Jacky Anderson. Many ladies report neck pains, likely from the airplane that passed overhead Sunday. A Friday surprise party failed to attract guests due to stormy cold weather, leaving everyone surprised.

Local Social News From Winnipeg to Mylor

Mr Velin and Miss Mae Painter visited during the last week in Winnipeg and Mikado. Mrs J W Eddy and Mr Alfred Diamond returned home from Winnipeg with social visits and gatherings noted. Homemakers and several card parties hosted by Mrs Eddy and others. A Women's Missionary Society meeting and a large dance at Mylor school topped week’s events. Lindsay McLean returned from Winnipeg bonspiel with Roxy Hamilton winning 3rd in Shea. Paying the Fiddler a big three act comedy to be presented at Davis Hall on February 26 under Ladies Aid auspices.

A church Monday evening event for Mak aroff United Ladies Aid Society featured games music and silver tea with fortune telling. Contest winners were Misses I. Clarge M. Ramsey S. Rogers and Mrs A. McInnes, with Misses M Dempsey I. Clarke V. Davis and H. Capelle completing the program.
