Encouraging Response To Alcohol Education In Manitoba
Public response to Manitoba alcohol education has been encouraging. Professor R N Halstead, chair of the Manitoba Committee on Alcohol Education, noted many hosts stopped offering one for the road and served non alcoholic drinks with meals as promoted. He cited fewer accidents and arrests during the Christmas season compared with most Canadian and U S areas. The committee, set up by the Education department on Bracken Commission recommendations, continues its educational program.
