Grand Narrows Christmas Tree Event and Community Gatherings
The Grand Narrows community prepared a Christmas tree on Friday December 14 hosted by Mr and Mrs L Maguire and family. Visits occurred with Mr and Mrs T H Dixon. Teachers Miss Rowan Miss Touzin and Miss Jaause from Walker Grand Prairie and Clemenseaupent joined Miss Verna Wilson for a weekend stay. The General AFM meeting met on Wednesday December 3 due to Friday conflicts. A report on the Portage wheat pool convention was given by Mr A Sangster and Mr BR Pearson. A social hosted by Mr John Ferguson in the U P M hall on Friday December 5 brought together young and old, and Mr Ferguson announced his wife’s introduction to the community with best wishes for their married life.

Weekend Visits And Community Events In Davis Hall Area
Mr Ed Palemett visited town over the weekend while Rev Mr Bartlett and Rev Mr Hill stay a few days. A Trustees meeting at Kamsack drew attendees from the district. A Christmas Tree concert is planned for Tuesday Dec 23 in Davis Hall. The Young People’s Society held a large attendance meeting Monday evening. John Peddie and Robertson of Rusel Man were guests of Ma Win. The Empty Stocking Fund event hosted by the Young People’s Society Friday filled the hall and raised funds. The banner at Presbyterian church, organized by the Ladies Aid of United church, drew a good crowd and funds. The Ladies Curling Club reorganized for the 1980-31 season with Mrs Wm Davis as Sec-Treas and a list of skip players. Play began Tuesday.
