Roblin Amateurs Present Successful Play

Roblin audience fills 1.0. Hall for An Old Fashioned Mother staged by Ladies Aid local talent. Cast includes Harvey Underhill John Underhill and Jeremiah Gosling with musical interludes by Mrs Geo Figger and Miss Esther Kulberg. Noted as a great success with a grand concert by Roblin Band and pupils planned for Dec 19 1924 in Assembly Hall followed by a dance.

Roblin Horsemen Win Fame at Exhibition

The three year old Percheron stallion Conqueror, bred near Roblin by Carlson Bros, won first prize in his class and the overall championship at the National Exhibition in Toronto last month. His success proves Manitoba can produce top stock, with Roblin associated breeders cited as the source of a fine contender.

Bible Sunday set for United Church services

Rev. Robert Harvey announces a mid month baptismal service and reminds all to notify the ushers beforehand. Next Sunday is Bible Sunday with Rev J E Ayre of the Bible Society expected to speak at Cromarty at noon, Tummer at 12 am, and Roblin at 7 pm.

Three district girls attended an older girls conference in Dauphin with plans to share ideas for GLT work. Thanks to Mrs Andres Arnett and Mr Geo Watson for community service at Tummel School with waste teaching and music day. Choir members enjoyed a social at the Kines home with twenty six guests. The Missionary Society unearthed a new missionary hen to aid fundraising. Forty four prepared for market at Mrs Gibson Ritchie’s home. Frigid weather did not deter a crowd at the school club medal night despite smallpox scares and ribbon shortages. Twins born in Hensall Hospital on November 26 1924 to Mr and Mrs Thomas H Myers.

First Seed Grain and Poultry Show Prize Winners at Togo

The 1st annual Seed Grain and Poultry Show in Togo on November 28, 1924 awarded multiple prizes across American and English breeds. Winners included Wyandotte entries by Austin and Hampson, Leghorn and Orpington classes won by Mrs J D Fogg and F J Austin, Turkish and Geese awards to J W Sweet and Jas King, and Prairie grain prizes for Marquis Wheat and White Oats led by Jas King and Adam Sanders.

Mr Fieleher conducted Methodist quarterly meetings in this field last week. The many friends of Mr Fora Chase at Dauphin hospital will be glad to hear of his recovery after an operation. A Ball hosted by the Old Timers in the Hall last Friday was enjoyed. friends from Shortdale and Roblin districts attended. The Union Ladies met at Mrs McDuffe’s home last Wednesday and worked with needles and scissors, arranging to postpone their bazaar until Friday December 19.

Makaroff set to stage Deacon Dubbs in December

Makaroff Players announce Deacon Dubbs a rural comedy in eight acts to be presented at Makaroff Hall on Friday December 19th. Local happenings include M Sloan and J McLaren visiting on business, and Mrs Cameron presiding at WI meeting with plans for a Scotch concert January 23rd. Members discuss winter activities, hens care talks, and a modest dues reduction noted at 6c.

Locals report Mr A Jassund off the smallpox list with no new cases. A stray horse from the farm, nearly all white with a roan and white face, last seen three weeks ago, remains missing. Mrs Curry spent the weekend with recovering relatives. Roblin returns Saturday. Lennard P.0. also mentioned.
