Roblin Band Concert Delights Large Roblin Crowd

Friday night Jest the Bob- A large crowd filled the hall for a Roblin band concert led by Rev Mr Harvey as chairman. Highlights included operatic mingles, violin solos by H florbo, duets by Dorothy Kolberg and W McMurray, readings by Jessie Russell, and dances to Homoresque and Maggie Blues. Mr McMurray, visiting from Dauphin, was praised for developing Roblin musical talent as the band has flourished for years. An enjoyable dance followed with strong orchestra music.

Christmas Services At Roblin Church Schedule Announced

Reverend Robert Herve and the Roblin church announce Christmas observances including a morning service, a night program with Miss Jessie Russell and Dr. Vandyke story, and Boxing Day events at M Edd Harrop's home. The United Sunday School meets next Sunday. The Crusader Christmas issue is released with a minister's greeting to the community.

A wedding at Home Street Presbyterian Church Winnipeg on Saturday November 29 united Verna May Stairs of Lower Southupyn R R and Laughlin McDonald of Roblin Man with Agart Wallace as bridesmaid and Kiane Byrne McDonald as best man. The note also covers local business visits, calendar orders, class schedules, and the Review delaying publication by a day next week.

Merridale Goat Prompts Hopeful Santa Visit at Hall

Mrs Stokka was on the sick list last week. William Sheply left for Winnipeg to seek holiday work. Stanley Sawicki visited his brother Levi then returned to Liften. School children practice for a Christmas Tree concert. James McDuffe Jr left for Brandon to spend winter with relatives. F Chase returned from Dauphin hospital after an operation for Herman. he is now improved.

Mr J Davies moved into a new home and a house warming is hoped for late January. The Play project progresses with artists busy and aiming for completion by year end. F U of C held its January meeting with usual business and visits from Gra Narrows members. A resident, Mr C Burnett, left Dec 2 for unknown parts. Manitoba Wheat Producers plan a talk on Wheat Pool topics January 1925, with date and venue to be announced. Law Beattie, VP of F U of C, is billed for a future talk. details to follow. The F U C Social Committee plans a New Year event described as big and unusual. Mr Jess Thompson was interviewed but held comments pending final arrangements. W Cox hosted a turkey shoot at the new hall on Saturday. Alex Donaldson reportedly took multiple birds. Jack Irvine seen with an item under his coat. Sleighs delivered friends to Bob McBride’s place, leading to cards and dancing. Mrs McBride hosted guests and lively music by Mrs MceCorquodate and Mr Webb, continuing until 4 am with refreshments.

Grand Narrows Mins Donelda Bassa returns home after two months away. Alvin McKnight visited Pelly to inspect his property last week. Mrs A Jackson visited friends in Kamsack. Ns and Miss Pitfield attended Holy Trinity church service in Kamsack on December 7 with the bishop of Qu Appelle. UIM meeting held December 10 with McKnight delivering the Dauphin district report and praise. Delegates McKnight and AC McKnight elected for Brandon Convention in January. Boys and Girls Club held a prize social on 12 with Verna Wilson winning the hyphen cap for top points. Club to reorganize January 9. UFM meeting December 9 at Mrs Burrell’s home. thanks extended to Mrs Burrell. Next UFM gathering January 18 at Mrs Dixon’s home.

Girls Club Meeting Funds Childrens Aid Society Sale

The Girls Club met at Mrs T Crane's home on Monday, voted to send money to the Childrens Aid Society, and use proceeds from a recent sale of work for extra church seats. Next meeting at Mrs Curle's home. Mrs Rayner hosted Friday at the Manse with games, prizes, and lunch. all left happy. reporter E. B.
