Thomas Mickelson Killed in Car-Track Collision
Thomas Mickelson 17 of Roblin died when a Plymouth rear-ended a three ton truck on the TransCanada Highway near Brandon Manitoba. Terrance Tucker 19, also of Roblin, was injured and driver of the truck Gordon Adam Taylor of Whitefish Ontario and his brother were uninjured.

The Roblin Horticultural Society held its annual meeting on November 13 in the Collegiate shop room with about 55 members and guests. President Peter Nowosad chaired as trophies were awarded for best newer and older home grounds, gladioli, and farm home grounds with several named winners.

Bodenhamer Receives Silver Star From President Johnson
Capt H Bodenhamer of Houston Texas was awarded the Silver Star for Vietnam service in a ceremony led by President Johnson alongside 15 other southeast Asia F 105 pilots. Johnson pinned his own silver star on Bodenhamer as a symbolic gesture promising the veteran to wear it when he leaves the service.

Funeral services for Alexander Laird were held Friday at Makaroff Community Hall at 3 30 p m. He died Tuesday November 28 1967 at Roblin District Hospital aged 76 Rev E S Dixon officiated Roblin Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements Interment in Makaroff District Cemetery Left to mourn are his wife Margaret two brothers five cousins and other relatives. He came to Canada from Scotland on April 1 1914 and settled in Makaroff district. He married Margaret S McMillan in Roblin November 10 1913 and they farmed there until retirement in 1956. He and his wife remained in Makaro ff village up to his death.

Collegiate Capers At Provincial Volleyball Meet
At Camp Shilo on December 2nd the Senior Boys and Girls volleyball teams from Roblin had a balanced day with wins and losses. The boys were undefeated in one set I match against each foe, while the girls showed strong effort and consistency. The teams, Roblin’s first provincial representatives, earned praise for their showing with thanks to cheerleaders coaches Mackay and Yeo, and to the bus driver and chaperones. A separate note mentions Pham Van Dung, a six year old Vietnamese child, five siblings, and a foster care arrangement begun in November with earnings of $2.14 per day.

Chartrand Charged With Attempted Murder in Roblin
Joseph Louis Chartrand of Roblin Manitoba appeared at Dauphin Court House for a preliminary hearing on November 27 1967 in connection with a shooting in Roblin on September 21 1967. Magistrate G A Lawman committed him for trial before a judge and jury at the Spring Assizes in Dauphin. Barrister Edward W Demkin represented the accused and W Murray Smith represented the Crown.
