Manitoba Minister of Agriculture George Hutton outlined the government’s policy at Keith Alexander’s nomination in Roblin Memorial Hall. He described plans to amend the Agricultural Credit Act letting livestock producers borrow up to 10000 for ten years for cattle purchases or pasture work. The policy aims to extend crop insurance gradually to all farmers and to double cattle production in fifteen years, stabilizing farm income in Manitoba.

Mr Pat Langan brought an egg to the office on Wednesday that contained a second, fully formed egg with shell. The larger egg also showed white and yolk inside the normal looking egg, presenting a rare double egger observed at the Review office.
Mr and Mrs F McDuffe visited relatives in Grandview Sunday. Guests included Mr and Mrs R LaPere of Dauphin and Mr and Mrs Don Davis. other visits involved Mr and Mrs Madill and family, Mr and Mrs Dave Davis, and Mr and Mrs Wellington Watson. Shirley Davis, after summering with J McCrea at Tummel, now works for Jim Donaldson in Roblin. Mrs L Leitz learned of her uncle Andrew Dunlop’s death in Kelowna last week. Lela Dunlop of Victoria and Roy Dunlop of Dauphin and Saskatoon are noted as relatives. Roy, a former farmer and implement dealer, later served as a CNR conductor and lived in Dauphin and Saskatoon before retirement.
Shell River residents learn of the passing of Mr A Dunlop. Nearby visits include Dauphin residents Mr and Mrs George Watson at the Watson home over the weekend. Lynn Lake visitors Airs Norman Hanson and family at the P N Hanson home. The Shell River W I changes December meeting to Thursday December 13 at Mrs F Watson's home to pack Christmas Hampers for Senior Citizens and hold a Christmas party.
The Afternoon Curling Club met Tuesday November 27 to reorganize for the winter season. Elected officers include President Mrs Ralph Ritchie Vice President Mrs Robin Watson and Secretary Treasurer Mrs Mervin Mickelson. Plans call for curling Friday afternoons with Tuesday as an alternative. More members are welcome contact any executive member.

Grand Prairie school to get an oil furnace. Mrs V Lavoillette, Robert Stinson and Ted Henry visit Bancorth. Mrs Justin LaRocque ill with influenza.

Mrs M Korman and Mrs M Hawrychuk travel to Toronto Sarnia and Windsor to visit relatives. Knox United Church Roblin hosts Christmas Vesper Service Sunday Dec 9 at 7 p.m.
A surprise Fortieth Wedding Anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. William Kapetz of Roblin Manitoba drew relatives from across Manitoba and British Columbia. Family members including son Nick from North Kamloops and multiple Kapetz relatives shared a meal, gifts, and many reunions as the couple celebrated forty years since their 1922 Roblin marriage.
The United Church Women held a general meeting at Knox United Church on Tuesday November 27 with a panel discussing Creation from Word and the Way. Committees reported packing 200 pounds of used clothing for Sandy Lake Ontario and gifts for Mental Hospitals Roblin stores.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion held its annual meeting in the Legion club rooms on Tuesday November 13 with President Mrs. Sanders presiding. Officers elected include Ruth Sanders president Amy Adam vice president Ricky Brumwell treasurer Lris Shepherd warden May Curle welfare Leitz Adam and F Watson ways and means Barbara Stefflar membership R Harlow and M Souter entertainment and publicity. An executive meeting will be held later to appoint a secretary.
Roblin Volunteer Fire Brigade responded to a Sunday blaze in the two storey duplex owned by George Souter. The fire heavily damaged the Souter half while the Schreyer residence suffered smoke damage. occupants were away, furniture and clothing lost, with no insurance on Schreyer contents. Fire originated likely from a cigarette in a Chesterfield.
Mr Jimmie Bell of Regina visited his parents Mr and Mrs Ed Bell. Mrs James Gawley is a patient in Yorkton hospital. Mr Jay Olson traveled to Vancouver B C. United Church Ladies Aid hosted an afternoon tea bazaar and casserole supper at the Elks hall. Dee Schell of Saskatoon, Bible Society officer, spoke at Togo United Church. Ian Abercrombie of RC A F Armstrong Ont visiting his mother.
The Roblin Women's Institute held its annual meeting on Thursday November 28 following the regular monthly session. Despite small numbers the group reported a busy year in line with the motto For Home and Country. Officers for next year were elected and will be installed at the next meeting. Ruth Sanders, delegate to a Leadership Training School, and District President Mrs J J Collins demonstrated Christmas arrangements using dried materials and pine.
$2000 gift from Mr. Gilbert Clement boosts Senior Citizens Housing project in Roblin and District. The donation aims to start accommodation construction in spring 1963, with Royal Bank Roblin manager D. Crossman coordinating additional donations from local supporters to turn plans into reality.
