Local residents report visits from Mr and Mrs J W Eddyer in Winnpeg and other travellers from Russell Margo Sask Winnipeg and Winnipeg. The Togo Branch of the Sask Wheat Pool held its annual meeting with Geo H Baker addressing. The community mourns Mr William Enge of Kamsack Hospital. A Liberal meeting in Kamsack featured Hon R J Parker and Hon J W Patterson. A Bible Society lecture titled A World at War drew a large audience in United Church. John Nicksmith and wife to Winnipeg bid welcomed with an evening of bridge and games. Health nurse meeting notes stress need for public support and $2 fee to sustain services.
SAN CLARA Pte Florian Laviolette is on leave at the parental home. Mr and Mrs John Ferguson visited at Makaroff. A Bussiere left for Winnipeg and will return with D Ruel. Mrs J Bouvier was in Dauphin hospital receiving medical attention. The Carrière family fourth son Herve, 18, enlisted in the Canadian Army on Nov 11.
Merridale reports Horace Ayer and Sig Olson of Leepdale visiting last week. Alf Dayson and family spent Sunday with E. Prior. Burglars stole valuables from Bruce Howell. Elza Pricer and family returned from Blue Wing after visiting J. Nastrom. Gravel hauled in Councillor H. Chick's ward. A. G. Towksin serves as road commissioner.
Funeral services held Thursday November 28 for Mrs. R. Cockerill with Rev. Dan Sereau officiating. Attendees included relatives from Calgary and Dauphin. interment at Tummel. Pallbearers and wreaths noted. burial per her wishes.
Darrel Crawford of the RCAF visited while Neals of the RCLA F spent a short leave with parents here. A large crowd attended the Red Cross annual meeting Tuesday November 23 in the hall. Reports showed a very successful year with over 1200 raised and 91 remaining. Officers elected include President H. Pte A Shymkin spent days on leave at home. Jessie Lindsay visited sister Ina at Silverwood. James Kerswell returned from Winnipeg. A W 1 Marie Rogers left for Trenton Ontario after furlough at home. Death reported of A C McKnight 25 at Gait hospital Ontario. Survived by two sons John Preston and Aaron Port Dover and two daughters Mrs Arthur Lewis Dundas and Mrs E Rogers Makaroff.
Otto Hilderman departed for Winnipeg Monday evening. Mrs. D Rink visits with her parents Mr and Mrs G Gardner. The Patriotic Society held its monthly meeting at Mrs R Henderson's home.
Mrs G A Lester returns home after visiting her mother in Tony Wisconsin. Mr and Mrs Roberts and Mr and Mrs Herbert and family motored to Boggy Creek last week. A number from here attended the fowl supper at Roblin held to aid the Rest Room.
Grand Narrows hosts Mr and Mrs John Dixon and family over the weekend. Mr and Mrs Geo Murray drive to Kamsack on business. Mr and Mrs S Hampson of Togo visit the district during the week. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Johny Bronconnier on the birth of a daughter. James Johnston of Treherne renews acquaintances locally. Mrs Walter Middleton returns from Winnipeg by train. Mr and Mrs Jas Appel visit Paul Laliberte home on Sunday. Paul Laliberte and Henre Langevin trip to Oak Lake and return with a Standardbred trotting stallion.
