The report notes Roblin wheat in milk stage with cutting expected around August 26. Progress is satisfactory with ample rain, though frost damaged low land. No rust or hail reported. Straw, oats, and barley crops are good. overall yields exceed average despite frost in some areas. J E S
The Roblin Red Cross Society plans a 3 o clock Monday meeting at the Red Cross to organize boys parcels. Proceeds from two booths at Sports Day totalled 453.40. Donations include Gill & Co for dishes Dunlop Brog oil stove Barrow & Co lumber and many helpers. The dance netted 107 to aid parcels. Thanks to G Porteous floor manager and AB Gill door keeper. The cream separator donated by Mr Wastle sold for 315.00.
Messrs J A Gill and C H Burns left Wednesday afternoon by auto for Winnipeg on a business trip.
Roblin residents host relatives and visitors including Mrs H J Bowley, Miss Ivy James, and Station agent Morton while Deepdale servicemen Ward and Bodtcher are noted. Dr Pike plans Roblin visits August 17 for dental work and a 40,000 bushel Great West Grain elevator is underway nearby.
A Friday bus tour by a Winnipeg business party visited Roblin district to observe Rural Credit scheme progress. Heavy morning rain hindered travel, but sun dried roads for autos that conveyed members across hundreds of miles. Banquet at Roblin Hotel drew over one hundred attendees. Premier Norris and Edward Brown spoke as the Rural Credit program dominated discussions.
