Roblin party to tour Rural Credit Society visit
On Friday August nine a group of about thirty Winnipeg business leaders will visit Roblin to study the Rural Credit Society, the Roblin branch touted as the strongest in the province. Arrangements for entertaining them include an evening banquet. The Shell River Agricultural Society fair faced rain and poor roads but later cleared, with cattle showing strong competition, especially a Shorthorn bull. The Red Cross dance raised funds for parcels for troops in France, while baseball games and a spirited match between married men and Roblin Intermediate drew crowds.

Roblin locals Rev W King and family renew acquaintances in the district. Mrs RG Todd and children left Monday on a train for Los Angeles. Mr and Mrs Chas Glover of Portage la Prairie visit relatives here. Ktev Jo Archibald conducted services at Union church Melville Sunday. Mr and Mrs Alan Vicars of Auguville visited relatives in town. Mel Evans of Saskatoon visited his brother George for several days. A fall list of Agricultural fair winners will be published next week. Roblin Red Cross Society to hold a meeting. Miss Jessie Rubery of Madison, North Dakota, visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs S Rulbery. Miss Cunniffe of Gilbert Plains and Amerrell of Brandon visiting Mr and Mrs L W Merrell. JW Partridge of Oakburn, government boiler inspector, has spent time in the district. A hail storm Saturday evening damaged crops in Wroxton and Calder districts. Dr and Mrs B Irwin thank friends for kindness after bereavement.
Deepdale Picnic and Red Cross Meeting Notes
Deepdale residents enjoyed vacations at Winnipeg homes and planned the Deepdale annual picnic on August 3. Red Cross reports show a quilt raffle raising $1380 with 92 as the winning number. parcels to troops were organized and a sewing drive set for August 11 at Mrs A Matthews home.
