Frederick John Lawrence 76 died suddenly. A native of Ontario he moved west to Manitoba in 1912 and served in Roblin as a shop buyer, United Church supporter, curling club member and village councillor. Services Aug 7 at Knox United Church with grave at Roblin Cemetery conducted by Roblin Masonic Lodge.

Shower honors bride elect Lasca Pearson at church
A shower honoring bride elect Lasca Pearson was held in the basement of the United Church last Tuesday evening. A large number of friends and relatives attended and presented Miss Pearson with a variety of pretty gifts. Mrs Pearson and Miss Helen Pearson were given corsages.

Poyser Dayson Roblin Wedding in Christchurch
A pretty wedding took place Wednesday August 2 at 3 pm in Christchurch. Freda Dayson daughter of F Dayson Roblin married Herbert Poyser son of R Poyser Merridale. The ceremony was by Rev T Thurlow with Edna Dayson as bridesmaid and Ralph Cockerill as best man. A reception for 100 guests followed at the bride’s home and a wedding dance was held that night in Alf Dayson’s barn. The couple will honeymoon briefly and reside on the groom’s farm northeast of Roblin.
