History of Roblin District Hospital Beginnings
Citizens of Roblin and surrounding districts pushed for a local hospital starting in 1945. A series of public meetings and health department coordination led to a bylaw proposal of 95 000 dollars. The bylaw passed by an almost unanimous vote on November 14, 1947.

Rockettes Triumph in Overtime at Togo Fair
The Rockettes beat Togo 5 to 4 after three extra innings in a July game at the Fair. Pitchers Mackinson and Bauming earned the victory. In a later 35 to 2 win over T-7's, Wellenchanko and Prokopetz starred. The team thanks Mr Nowosad and Andrews for transportation.

Grandview Man Drowns At Jack Fish Lake
Yurkiw Yurkiw Yurkiw, 22, of Grandview drowns while swimming at Jack Fish Lake on a Sunday. He was with a Grandview party including Alex Kondra of Pelly and Miss E Kocurski of Bield. Kocurski tried to aid him with a water wings tube but was seized by the wrist during the struggle.

Ron Arnott Wins Geology Fellowship at Columbia
Ron Arnott son of Mr and Mrs John Arnott Roblin awarded the James Furman Kemp Fellowship in Geology at Columbia University New York. He will continue geological work under the award terms with community congratulating Ron and his parents on high scholastic achievement.

Seniors Strike Gold At Flin Flon
The Roblin ball team traveled to Flin Flon for two exhibition games against the Flin Flon All Stars. Means and Weitzel pitched the two wins while Pigg starred at bat, with a roof-shot home run noted. The crowd watched from rocky outfield perches as Roblin also won the return game at The Pas.

Hospital Aid Raises $1 783 For Hospital Linens
The Hospital Aid, in its early meeting, planned linen support for the hospital. Purchases totaling 1783.23 include sheets, pillow cases, bedspreads, towels, gowns, blankets, dressings, and various cot and nursery textiles.
Pantry Shower Donations Highlight District Aid
The district reports many clothing and medical supply items donated through pantry showers including diapers, masks, curtains and binders, plus foods such as jelly, cereals and coffee. Estimated total value of gifts is about $151.47.
Fairs Results Delayed As Next Review Goes To Press
Local notes include visitors from Seattle Toronto and Winnipeg. Irene Lovas returns from Gimli summer school. A big derby prize encourages George Ricker and others to Flin Flon. Lily Cailes visits Ada Jakeman. CBC bank staffer Helen Lovas on vacation.
