A successful centennial dance was held last Friday evening. At press time the raised total remains unknown for the centennial project. The program committee seeks photos of early settlement and life, with dates and descriptions for possible inclusion in a centennial special.
Michelle Kines, a Roblin resident, is in Boston Massachusetts after a serious operation on April 12 in a respiratory unit. Doctors performed a tracheotomy and a machine is attached. Her father Hugh Kines stays by her side. A fund has been set up to help cover heavy expenses with contributions accepted at Roblin Trading Co Macleods Mitchells Drug Store Roblin Review Roblin Co op Store or Royal Bank through May 6.
Veterinary advice stresses vaccinating calves for blackleg with a four shot series to build solid protection, notes outbreaks in Roblin district, and warns against using flour on horn stubs. Dehorning, castration, branding, and proper drainage are advised, with cautions on diarreha prevention and treatment in calves and dairy cows.

Mrs L Jolliffe and Mrs P Biscegug with son Andrew visited C Ayer home in Deepdale. Mrs H Ayer hospitalized in Victoria now recovering. Merney Jolliffe reports a remarkable tour touching Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Italy. By Venice they rode a river bus and saw Pisa's Leaning Tower, its 434 foot height, then Rome sights including the Vatican and Mount Vesuvius.
The Togo Sports Day returns July 1 with sponsorship by the Ogo Centennial Committee in conjunction with the Togo Elks Lodge. All net proceeds will fund the local Centennial project costs.
Roblin and Dauphin residents visited relatives in Roblin and Dauphin Hospital. Notables include Mrs E Brimwell and Mrs W Ford at Nora Cross’s Dauphin Hospital. Speedy wishes go to Peter Bugera in Winnipeg General Hospital. Golf club meeting planned April 30 at 2 pm in Roblin club house for interested golfers. Bob Cross and Willie Pitze planned a west coast holiday, attending Janice Butcher wedding in Ladner, then visiting Vancouver and return via the United States.
The Makaroff Women's Institute met at Mrs. J. Kerswell's home on April 13 with seven members and three visitors. Roll call invoked Pennies For Friendship for the District Convention. minutes and treasurer reports were read. Delegates to the District Convention were named, plans for a centennial tea and raffles discussed, and charitable activities noted including treats, floral tributes, and dish purchases from centennial fund.
Royal assent authorizes a five percent sales tax effective June 1, excluding essentials like food shelter and farm goods. The tax targets services to tangible property but not real property, with exemptions for used goods private sales and certain casual imports. About 24,000 information envelopes and a two month interim registration system support businesses as treasury officers tour the province offering help.

At the Roblin Parkland Festival annual meeting on April 11 the decision was made to hold two festivals in 1968. The spoken arts and dance events will run February 6 to 9 with a final concert on the 9th, and the instrumental and vocal sections will run May 7 to 10 with a final concert on the 10th. Entries open with a small participation fee. Officers for the following year include Past President Alma Carnochan and President W Gamey, with multiple vice presidents, secretary, treasurer, registrar and committee heads listed.
Mr and Mrs Dave Gawley of Togo Sask announce the engagement of their eldest daughter Colleen Elizabeth to Robert Joseph Bernard son of Mr and Mrs N Bernard of Finn Flon Man The wedding is set for May 20 at 2 00 PM in St Pauls United Church Togo Sask
The Tummell 4-H Garden Club held its second meeting on April 19 with eleven members present. Seeds were distributed to members and a public speaking event was announced for May 1 in Tummell. Discussions covered a rally display and marching color scheme. next meeting set for May 10. Cindy Kurchak Reporter.
Funeral service for Olive Myrtle Kelso of Roblin Manitoba was held April 22 at the Roblin Knox United Church. She died April 19 at Roblin District Hospital at age 88. Survivors include husband George, two daughters Betty Keast and Phyllis Mudry, a brother and sister, and six grandchildren.
