Centennial Dance Promotes Roblin and District Project

A successful centennial dance was held last Friday evening. At press time the raised total remains unknown for the centennial project. The program committee seeks photos of early settlement and life, with dates and descriptions for possible inclusion in a centennial special.

Local girl undergoes major operation in Boston

Michelle Kines, a Roblin resident, is in Boston Massachusetts after a serious operation on April 12 in a respiratory unit. Doctors performed a tracheotomy and a machine is attached. Her father Hugh Kines stays by her side. Togo Sports Day Sets July 1 Event With Centennial Support

The Makaroff Women's Institute met at Mrs. J. Kerswell's home on April 13 with seven members and three visitors. Roll call invoked Pennies For Friendship for the District Convention. minutes and treasurer reports were read. Delegates to the District Convention were named, plans for a centennial tea and raffles discussed, and charitable activities noted including treats, floral tributes, and dish purchases from centennial fund.

Two Festivals Planned At Roblin Parkland Festival 1968

At the Roblin Parkland Festival annual meeting on April 11 the decision was made to hold two festivals in 1968. The spoken arts and dance events will run February 6 to 9 with a final concert on the 9th, and the instrumental and vocal sections will run May 7 to 10 with a final concert on the 10th. Entries open with a small participation fee. Officers for the following year include Past President Alma Carnochan and President W Gamey, with multiple vice presidents, secretary, treasurer, registrar and committee heads listed.

Olive Myrtle Kelso obituary from Roblin Manitoba

Funeral service for Olive Myrtle Kelso of Roblin Manitoba was held April 22 at the Roblin Knox United Church. She died April 19 at Roblin District Hospital at age 88. Survivors include husband George, two daughters Betty Keast and Phyllis Mudry, a brother and sister, and six grandchildren.
