Rural Municipality of Shell River held its regular council meeting in Roblin on April 6 at 10 a.m. with Reeve F H Wilson presiding and all councillors present. Minutes from March 2 and March 5 were adopted. accounts totaling 21390.29 were approved. a road chemicals allowance and a 1960 tax levy by law were discussed. next meeting set for May 4 after the Court of Revision. Cromarty 4-H Club Meeting at Cromarty School House
The Cromarty 4 H Club held its monthly meeting at the Cromarty School House with secretary readings of last minutes. A Whist Drive was approved for April and public speaking group speeches were followed by class sessions. Mr Robin Watson showed films and members provided lunch. The next meeting is set for May 5 at 8 p.m.

Sincere sympathy extended to the Ritchie family. Mr and Mrs Wm De La Mare attended the funeral of their uncle Mr Charlie Russell of Russell Manitoba last Wednesday. Mr and Mrs George De La Mare also attended the funeral. Mrs Ed Miller is home again with her daughter and son in law Mr and Mrs O C Fisher of Tum Mel after a hospital stay. Mr Wm Y Arnott of Flin Flon attended the funeral of his brother in law Mr A Ritchie. Relatives at the home of Mr and Mrs R Arnott Thursday evening were Mrs A Ritchie, Mr and Mrs J Ritchie, Mr Logan Ritchie, Mr Wm Y Arnott and Mr and Mrs Ralph Ritchie. Miss Jean Miller of Winnipeg attended her grandfather's funeral Wednesday, returning to the city Friday after visiting her parents Mr and Mrs A Miller. Visitors at the home of Mr and Mrs R Arnott included Mr Wm Y Arnott of Flin Flon, Mr and Mrs Alton Sorbo, and Mr and Mrs Chris Tummon.

Alexander Ritchie 73 Roblin resident dies. funeral held
Alexander Ritchie of Roblin died Sunday in Roblin District Hospital at 73. Funeral services were conducted April 6 at Roblin United Church by Reverend G Waddell, with burial in Deer Park cemetery Tummel Man. Sneath Funeral Service arranged. Born in Toronto in June 1886, he moved to Roblin district in 1909, married Helen Arnott in 1915, and farmed until relocating to Roblin in 1948. Survived by wife, five children, one brother, one sister, and eleven grandchildren. predeceased by son Charles in 1944.

The Tummel Ladies Club held its March gathering at Mrs G Buick’s home with nine members and two visitors.
