Wind-Up Party by Roblin Lady Curlers

Roblin ladies held a wind up curling party at the Curling Rink on Saturday March 17 with about 34 attendees enjoying the last game of the season followed by a banquet upstairs. Officers for next year include President Mrs W, Vice President Mrs Rey, Treasurer Mrs Keast. other committees to be appointed in fall. Arksey Rink members listed include Mrs Arksey skip, Mrs Duzis, Mrs Shirley Wark, and Mrs Emma Andres.

Funeral services were held for Harriet Agnes Taylor who died March 22 in Roblin Hospital at 83. Rev. Russ Williams officiated with McBain's Funeral Service handling arrangements. Interment at Makaroff cemetery. Also noted are services for Alex Bodnaruk of Blue Wing who died March 25 at 72, with Roblin Memorial Chapel in charge and interment at Shevlin cemetery. Teachers Local Meeting in Roblin Discusses Field Day

The Roblin Local of the Manitoba Teachers' Society met Tuesday March 27 at the Intermediate School. A five member committee was elected to survey teacher support for a Field Day covering all elementary shows. At April's meeting in the Elementary School there will be further discussion. Mrs Wilson was chosen as delegate to the Mental Health Clinic. Mrs Lebedowich and Mrs Burефle will attend the Marquette Music Festival meeting in Binscarth.

Tummel 4-H Club Plans Public Speaking Contest

The Tummel 4-H Garden Club met in the school on March 21. Seeds were distributed and members prepare speeches. A Calf and Garden Club public speaking contest will send winners to Roblin. Mrs. Van Drecht may speak about 4-H and gardening next meeting. April 11 next gathering. lunch option to be decided at April meeting.

United Church Women Hold General Meeting in Knox Church

The United Church Women met Tuesday in Knox Church with G. McBain chairing. About 50 members and 3 visitors attended. worship opened by Mrs E. Cross. Plans included an April 16 Mental Health meeting, floor sanding in spring, and a $25 donation to Knox Church Choir.

Minister Warns Public Of Road Restrictions

Acting minister of public works Walter C. Weir urged public cooperation to avoid damage to highway surfaces during the annual spring break up. Hilland left Sunday for Winnipeg where they spent a couple of days on business. Mr. Merle Lamb returned home by jet on Thursday, March 29, after six weeks visiting his parents and sister at Phoenix Arizona. He reported a good time and a sun burn tan to prove it.
