County Sanatorium Board Elects Managers in Special Session
The Halifax County Board of Commissioners and Board of Health met in the Health Department Building to elect a five member Hospital Managers board for the County Sanatorium. Wrenn Matthews Shaw Maddrey Sutter were chosen for terms of one to four years with Shaw as treasurer.

Radio schedules shift as clocks fall back Sunday
Radio fans are warned that on Sunday the four major networks will return to EST, moving all schedules back one hour. Roanoke Rapids and surrounding NC stations did not switch to daylight time last spring, forcing changes to air times for network programs heard one hour later than before.

Byron Gurley is named drive chairman for Roanoke Rapids Community Chest with Ned Manning as co chair and a team covering industrial and ward based groups.
