Plans Formed For Aurelian Springs Community Fair
Preparations advance for the Aurelian Springs Community Fair to be held next Wednesday October 26 at the School Building. The event features a parade of floats and exhibits from five townships showcasing school, home, and farm activities. Livestock and poultry displays will be larger than prior years with a morning address by a noted speaker and an afternoon basketball game. Club Girls will sell refreshments including barbecue. Association officers are Charles Kelly president Marvin Harris secretary and J W Carlisle treasurer with special thanks to Miss Ethel Leatherwood County Demonstrator for efforts driving the fair’s success. A very large crowd is expected.

Four cases from the Recorder's Court week end with suspensions or dismissals. W. A. Burt faced charges of obtaining goods under false pretenses but received a suspended judgment after paying for goods and costs. J. T. Sarvis also paid for goods and costs to avoid further action. Billy Williams was fined for cruelty to animals and two drivers paid dollars for no head lamps. Mrs. Sarah Birdsong Dies at 87 in Rosemary
Mrs. Sarah Birdsong, longtime Rosemary resident, died Monday afternoon at 5 30 at her son in law Nat Lyles home on Four Hundred Street. She was eighty seven years ten months and twenty eight days old. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon by Rev Crutchfield at her home near Gumberry.

Mrs Kate Bailey wife of Clarence W Bailey died at her home on Two Hundred Street Rosemary Monday morning. She is survived by her husband two sisters Mrs Fenner Whitaker and Miss Bessie Edmonds of Rosemary and by her father Mr Rufus Edmonds. Funeral services were held at the family home Tuesday afternoon and interment followed in Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev C W Rio of the Christian Church officiating.

Mr Larkin C Searcy, a well known citizen of Rosemary, died at his home on Three Hundred Street Monday morning at eight thirty due to heart failure. His parents, Mr and Mrs Jeff Searcy of Spectanburg, C, and Messrssiot of ville and High Point, arrived to take the body to Spartanburg for burial. He had been associated with the Rosemary Mfg Company.

Dental Clinic Begins Monday In Roanoke Rapids
Dr. Muse, sent by the State Board of Health, will run a free three week dental clinic for children aged six to twelve at Roanoke Rapids schools starting October 31. The first week the Central School will host an office for attending students, with parental access and teacher cooperation. County health officials conduct health and dental checks across the district to identify and treat defective teeth.
