River Treasure author Burgwyn builds career on Occoneechee Neck tales

Mrs Burgwyn, wife of John Burgwyn of Woodland and daughter of W H S Burgwyn, wrote a children's book series inspired by Occoneechee Neck tales and her experiences as a cadet wife. After publishing River Treasure with illustrations by Ralph Ray, she tours libraries and conventions while planning two more children’s books The Unusual Mouse and Allen's Royal Mischief. She emphasizes that her writing began as bedtime stories for her children and grew into a publishing project after encouragement from relatives and a New York publisher.
