James N Butts Halifax County Man Dies at 51
James Nathaniel Butts of Halifax county died Saturday February 17 at age fifty one after a stroke in May 1915 left him an invalid. He was married twice Bettie Rhea and Lula Tippet and survived by seven children including Geo and Joseph Butts and Mrs H W Taylor. Funeral held by Rev Wm Towe and Rev H Trueblood with interment in family yard. Profs Akers and Proctor attend National Educational Association meeting in Kansas City.

Death of C C Clements in Patson Mills
C C Clements a longtime local resident died Thursday afternoon at three o'clock in the Patson Mills weave room from apoplexy. About fifty years old, he came from Northampton county five years ago and is survived by his wife and one child. Funeral services were held at his home by Rev. C H Trueblood of the Roanoke Rapids Baptist Church with burial in Roanoke Rapids Cemetery.
