Joseph Bitner Wollett 56 longtime Littleton official and State Board of Corporration and Development member died suddenly at his Littleton home. Funeral at Littleton First Baptist Church with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Survived by wife Lollie Johnston Smith, two stepchildren, and relatives. Governor expressed sympathy noting his public service and leadership.

Koy Kidd of White Motor Company residing in the 200 block of Hamilton Street was bitten by a black widow spider in bed last night. He was hospitalized in Roanoke Rapids for treatment and listed as in danger but currently showing no severe symptoms from the bite.

Johnson Arrested in Fayetteville on Welden Highway Shooting
Julian Johnson, a white man, was arrested in Fayetteville after being linked to a Wel don highway shooting Saturday night June 8. O dell Deaton and Walter Deaton suffered minor injuries.
